Campus Strictness: In comparison to other schools, I think our campus is pretty lenient. Campus security generally won't blink an eye if you have been drinking, as long as you aren't belligerent and/or holding a bottle in your hand. Drug laws in Ohio are less strict than in other states. Having visitors in your room is not an issue at all. There's no "registering" guests or monitoring if there are people of a different gender in your hall. It's never been a problem, really more of a convenience if you want to study with a friend of the opposite sex or have a friend from home stay the night.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Security's alright. You'll always see them zipping around campus, but they seem to care more about keeping kids from climbing trees or playing in the fountains than doing anything about quiet hour violations or noise complaints. They're always there in a flash if you lock yourself out of your room though!

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Security is very helpful and are there to help you. They really aren't too strict on anything especially if you are respectful. The school's policies in general are fair and so are the consequences. The biggest policy that they are strict on is academic honesty/integrity.

5 College Junior

Campus Strictness: An important academic honor code is the Wooster Ethic, as academic dishonesty is taken very seriously. This year the College is employing the Party monitor program.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Campus security can be seen as strict at times but it is in an effort to keep students safe. Academic integrity is very important to the administration and the Wooster Ethic is signed as a freshmen during orientation.

At Wooster, the atmosphere is generally not very strict. RAs, administration, and Security & Protective Services are usually pretty lenient as long as you aren’t a person who is constantly causing problems. If a student gets in trouble, it is usually for something alcohol related: underage drinking, walking outside with an open container, or playing drinking games. If you aren't obvious and try to stay out of trouble, you’ll be fine. Security doesn’t go around campus and search for students to give alcohol tickets to.

In 2011, Wooster hired a new director of Security & Protective Services. This director was formerly the Chief of Police for the Wooster Police Department and has served as a patrol officer, detective, and SWAT team member for more than 24 years. Because of this change, students anticipate that Security & Protective Services will change its easy-going ways and begin to crack down on students.
