2 College Freshman

Student Body: Not very diverse in any subjects.

2 College Freshman

Academic Experience: There's hardly anything offered at this school other then basic academics.

2 College Freshman

Academic Experience: There aren't very many opportunities here for specific majors.

3 College Freshman

Facilities: The main thing about my school that is different from other schools is the size. It is a small school so it never gets very chaotic or loud. Also the class room size is very small so it is easier to communicate with teachers.

2 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: As far as the process of which credits transfer and which credits do not transfer I mainly had to figure it out on my own. the counselors here were not extremely helpful but kind of pointed me in the right direction. they didn't really seem to give me a good idea of what classes I should be taking for the focus of my degree

2 College Freshman

Career Services: The postgrad services at this school are not very strong. It is not a very pushing school for the next level of education such as your graduate degree.

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: There is consistent access to computers and the wireless network works fine but there are not very many computers that matter of fact I think there are only two. The need for a personal computer is very crucial if not mandatory.

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: It's a very small campus so the resources for the amount of students isn't bad. The technology lacks quite a bit and could use work.

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: Not being in the physical presence of a human being and have to deal with technological things can be rough at times but the schedule is very flexible which helps a lot.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Registering for class was very difficult for me because I did it on my own. I was suppose to have a counselor help me choose classes but I did not live in the College's area yet. There are a lot of programs to choose from here. The professors are very nice and friendly. They're always available during their office hours and are always ready to help. I'd advise you to take advantage of your professor's open office hours, it always helps along the way!

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I am taking Libral Arts: Fine Arts. There are career opportunities available but they are not in the area. It's more in the Southern California area. There are a lot of Fine Art classes to choose from which all help master the specific major.

Overall Experience: This college is very down-to-earth and friendly. There are varies ways of getting help on anything you need or question. The school is surrounded by theses tall and beautiful Redwood trees. The scenery is beautiful as well! The only things that aren't the best is that the On-Campus housing costs a lot and this college isn't well-known yet. But I have learned a lot of things here, made a ton of new friends and made new memories here.

Campus Resources: I love College of Redwood's library! It's soo big! CR's library has computers, ebooks, articles and databases for research projects. The student center is a place that a lot of students go to for a quiet environment and for tutoring by the peer tutors and available professors. The campus has a lot of sports events and has coffee stands around campus.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The Writing Center and library always has available computers for students to use! The WIFI is absolutely perfect. And the internet isn't slow at all. Printing and scanning is also available on campus, but I think you have to pay for color prints.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I am a full-time student taking 4 classes. On the first day of class, all of my teachers gave every student a syllabus which included their open office hours where we can go visit them to ask for help. The only thing that is sometimes diffcult is when my instructor holds us for more than 3-5 minutes past the original end of class time and it becomes a hassle for me because the class that I have next starts in 10 minutes. And it usually takes 10 minutes to get to my next class!

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am currently living on campus and I didn't realize that it would so much money! When giving my financial aid information to CR's financial aid office, it took almost a month for everything to be received and finished. My advice, if you plan on attending this college, get your financial aid forms in a couple months before you start a semester. And stay in school!

Facilities: College of the Redwoods has everything you need! There is a huge library with open computers to use. The college also has a Writing Center that has peer tutors and professors there daily to help revise any of your essays or paragraphs. There is a redwood transit system that comes to the campus every other hour which will take you anywhere that you need to go. CR also has residence halls for students who wish to live on campus. Cr has a Career and Development and Student Employment in the career center which will give you an opportunity to do career planning, search for a job, work study and choose the right major for you. Not only does CR have a dining service that serves wide varieties of cuisines but CR also has a convenience store located in the cafeteria!

Student Body: Attending College of the Redwoods was a huge culture shock! Everyone here are so friendly and nice, it's wonderful! Before I attended College or the Redwoods, I moved from southern California, people there were not as friendly and nice as the people here in Northern California. Whenever I'm walking to class and there is a person that I don't know walking the opposite way as me, he or she either says "Hi" or gives a friendly smile or they hold the door for you even if you're far away from the door.

Although there is not much diversity here, everyone is very accepting and friendly. I believe there are about 95% Whites and the rest Black/Asian/ or Mexican. It doesn't matter what religion you're into, what you look like, or what your sexual orientation is, you will be accepted at this college. They'll come to you with open arms ready to make you their new friend.
