The College of Mount Saint Vincent is most strict when it comes to guests staying over. CMSV only recently established the rule where students who live on campus are allowed to visit other dormitories, regardless of time. However, visiting commuter student must leave by midnight on weekdays and 1:30 a.m. on weekends. The same rules apply for any outside guest without an overnight pass. If a student wishes to have someone spend the night, they must fill out an overnight guest form and submit it 24 hours before the stay in order to get approved. Most students find these rules tedious and unnecessary, but they are made for the safety of the students.

RAs are assigned to different divisions within buildings to enforce these rules and keep order. However, they are generally lenient and care about the residents’ college experience. They hold floor events and meetings to make this possible and are there to resolve issues between roommates or neighbors. The College’s policies are more tightly enforced on Thursday nights—this is the most popular night for Mount students go out—and cars are not even allowed to enter campus past 10 p.m. RAs are very tentative on these nights as well, making sure that residents are quiet by 11 p.m. for the courtesy of other students.
