If there is one thing that CMSV students complain about the most, it is the food options. Contrary to what the school boasts about, the hot food served at Spellman is sometimes barely edible and not even close to what they were intending to make. Because of this, students resort to the sandwich station and salad bar where they are free to put together their own meals consisting of a variety of breads, wraps, cold cuts, diced chicken, cheeses, and vegetables. Students are also a huge fan of the cereal station—multiple types of cereals are available to students throughout breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with whole, 2 percent, skim, and soy milks. Do not be afraid of going up for seconds either because Spellman is a buffet-style dining hall.
Benedicts Café is the preferred choice of dining, especially for commuter students or for students stuck in class. Although it is not buffet-style, the food is better quality and extremely popular among all patrons. Benedicts can even get overcrowded on some Thursdays when sushi is served. However, despite its popularity, a lot of students complain about the prices and lack of Dolphin Dollars. Also, the hours are very limited, but pre-made take-out options are available for future consumption.
