For starters, almost everything on campus is accessible within 15 minutes, and the University offers the free and reliable Colgate Cruiser to students and the community. That being said, parking is restricted, and parking regulations are very actively enforced by Campus Safety.
First-years and sophomores (as well as others living in traditional residence halls) are relegated to the first-year lot, wedged between Starr Rink, the health center, and Tyler's Field—it's definitely a walk with an armful of groceries! As students move up the ladder, however, there is more than ample parking at the Broad Street houses (Greek and interest houses), as well as in the apartment and townhouse communities. While students are allowed to drive and park "up the hill" after 3:30 p.m., don't make the mistake of parking overnight, as this is one of the most enforced violations. Parking is free, but be sure to spend a bit of time reviewing the parking regulations on campus.
