Local Atmosphere: It's mainly just us. We occasionally see people from USC or UNC Wilmington but it's mainly just us. Living so close to Myrtle Beach has its perks and its drawbacks. You have all of your major stores and restaurants but after mid March or so, traffic is horrific. All of the perks or Myrtle Beach are really only accessible if you have a car or know people who do and you'll find that once you get towards the halfway point in the semester, no one wants to spend gas money anymore. Overall, I'd say, it's there when you want it/ need it but campus is isolated enough that if you don't want it or need it, it won't bug you.

Local Atmosphere: People are very friendly but the shopping requires a car. We have Myrtle Beach 15-20 minutes away, so if we want night life, that is where we go, but there again...we need a car. The locals are kind to students, but again, there are some unsafe areas quite close to campus. The CCU police are really good so although there is crime, they are available to help.

Local Atmosphere: If you have a car you can get to any of the stores near the college or enjoy everything in Myrtle Beach. Without a car there are very few places you can get to though.

Local Atmosphere: Coastal is luckily located in a big tourist spot - Myrtle Beach, SC! There is always something to do around the area with events always going on. They are constantly having concerts at the Boathouse or House of Blues. All of the locals are extremely friendly with southern charm.

Local Atmosphere: The local atmosphere at CCU and of Conway SC is horrible. I will not be staying here next semester for this reason and a few other reasons.
