Campus Dining: Dining on campus is nice and if you are not pleased there are tons of cafes and eateries right across the street.

Local Atmosphere: Plenty of public transit options such as the rapid rail, buses and trolleys. The library is gorgeous and within walking distance. There is a casino and Hard Rock Cafe. There are also music venues, such as House of Blues. Playhouses Square is down the street from campus as well as Tower City, which has stores and a food court. All professional sport stadiums are nearby and the lake is within walking distance. The Rock Hall and Science Center are also nearby and are fun to visit. Cleveland has a lot to offer.

Scholarships: Campus 411 is very helpful with applying and receiving financial aid.

3 Recent Alumnus

Majors: There is no compensation for full time student teaching which makes survival difficult.

4 Recent Alumnus

Majors: I enjoy my department. The faculty is helpful and the new building is beautiful. The College of Education created classrooms extremely conducive to learning.

Campus Strictness: Enforcement will not hesitate to ticket your car if one minute after your reader expires.

Overall Experience: I enjoy the urban atmosphere, but being a commuter school with limited parking is frustrating. The school is constantly building decreasing parking lots to replace them with dorms. For older students or those that do not want to live downtown, it can be irritating.

Diversity: There are plenty of different ethnic groups at CSU. From Latino, Eastern Indian, Asian and African-American., the campus is proud of cultures learning and working together.

Cleveland State's motto is "the city is our campus" and with a setting like this, how can a student not enjoy all it has to offer? The city opens doors to many opportunities. No matter what major you are, the teachers are personable and easy to build a rapport with, and, most importantly, they help students gain a better understanding of the real world. With 16,000 students, you get all of the advantages of both large and small campuses, which is hard to find at other schools. The size of the classes helps students better understand the material and makes it easier to become knowledgeable in their desired areas. The city provides plenty of learning experiences that cannot be found at many other colleges.

The majority of students at Cleveland State will probably find a reason to complain about something that has taken place on campus, but the majority of those students, when asked, said they would pick CSU all over again. Once you come here, it will be hard to see yourself anywhere else because, like stated before, it provides you with many opportunities and advantages that might not be offered at other colleges. CSU is not just a place to learn what you need to know for a career, but it is also a place to grow and interact. Without the experience of Cleveland State University, a student could be missing out on the next door to their life, and that is a chance that should not be taken.
