3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Being in an urban community has its expected outcomes.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Campus provides unlimited public transport for $25 a semester, which is a steal.

1 College Junior

Parking: The have consistently removed parking options while the price has skyrocketed.

4 College Junior

Diversity: The diversity on campus is great. It is definitely a melting pot of many cultures.

3 College Junior

Computers: Most of the computers in the main classroom are broken and rarely have the necessary programs for classes. Good luck finding open computers anywhere else on campus. Avoid the mobile campus at all costs. The laptops are the worst.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The campus demographic is average for a commuter school. Being completely honest, I have not found anything that blows me away, which is unfortunate.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The parking is extremely strict, while the prices are very high. Student organizations must abide by archaic rules that end up being detrimental to their success.

2 College Junior

Weather: The harsh winters are very difficult for a commuter school. The worst part is that the school admits they do not take the commute into consideration when closing campus.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Just like any other college.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Great places to live but some are very expensive.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Relatively easy process to get into the Business program.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: All kinds of different people.

3 College Freshman

Computers: Many computer labs to choose from.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Emergency escort options but being in Cleveland always runs a risk.

1 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Not many options unless you go to downtown.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: Easy to get around the city.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Big time commuter school smack dab in the city of Cleveland, Ohio.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I plan to join a sorority. It is a fairly easy to get involved with Greek life and there are events to join an sorority or fraternity at the beginning of the semester.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: They are strict but no overbearing.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Most people know Cleveland State for basketball. A lot of students attend those events. Intramural and club sports are something that a lot of students do know about.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: On Campus living is not for everybody but there are nice options. depending on where you live on campus there are different amenities like single rooms, kitchens there are game rooms and food shops.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I am a Mechanical Engineering major it is nice because there are a lot of things specifically for Engineering majors, from clubs, to activities, to advisers to special courses.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: There is 24 hour transportation provided by the Healthline. There are parties off campus mostly. We are right downtown so there are a lot of places to go for nightlife.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are interesting places all through downtown you just have to know where to go. sometimes it can be a lot of repetition. but there are good options.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Everything is secured, there are check ins for the dorms. and security is in dorms at night and there is someone to check people in. the elevators in the dorms require keycards so no one can just go up. There are emergency phones all throughout campus and the police are always driving around. There is also campus safety.

Cleveland State's motto is "the city is our campus" and with a setting like this, how can a student not enjoy all it has to offer? The city opens doors to many opportunities. No matter what major you are, the teachers are personable and easy to build a rapport with, and, most importantly, they help students gain a better understanding of the real world. With 16,000 students, you get all of the advantages of both large and small campuses, which is hard to find at other schools. The size of the classes helps students better understand the material and makes it easier to become knowledgeable in their desired areas. The city provides plenty of learning experiences that cannot be found at many other colleges.

The majority of students at Cleveland State will probably find a reason to complain about something that has taken place on campus, but the majority of those students, when asked, said they would pick CSU all over again. Once you come here, it will be hard to see yourself anywhere else because, like stated before, it provides you with many opportunities and advantages that might not be offered at other colleges. CSU is not just a place to learn what you need to know for a career, but it is also a place to grow and interact. Without the experience of Cleveland State University, a student could be missing out on the next door to their life, and that is a chance that should not be taken.
