4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Clemson is a very safe campus, the police are very accessible and the students are friendly. There is limited concern for theft and most crimes are typically small.

Health & Safety: I have never felt threatened at Clemson and probably feel a little too safe here. There has only been one minor incident in my time at Clemson.

Security phones, police escorts, and lights all over campus help make Clemson a very safe environment for students. The annual Clemson Safe Walk involves students and members of the Clemson community who walk the campus and discuss ways to improve safety. Most students agree that Clemson is an extremely safe campus as long as you take the basic precautionary measures, like walking in a group after dark and locking your doors.

Clemson is a fairly large university located in a rural setting, which makes it an obvious target for theft by outsiders. However, most students will tell you they haven't had any trouble, and there really isn't too much to worry about. As long as you use common sense (lock up your bikes, cars, and apartments, and avoid walking alone at night), you shouldn't have any difficulties with strangers or outsiders.
