Health & Safety: There are several phone booths on campus and a bus.

Health & Safety: Clemson has a relatively safe campus. There is tiger transit which will pick you up from anywhere on campus to another place on campus for free from 6pm-6am. There was a sexual assault on campus my freshmen year that involved a girl running at night and being assaulted but it was handled very well. It is safe to walk around at night depending on where you are on campus but I would recommend using tiger transit or walking with a group of friends just to be extra safe.

Health & Safety: Since my first year on campus, there's been about two sexual assault cases. They both occurred in places that were unlit and late at night by themselves. If you act safe, there's little chance of anything bad happening. The school offers a night transit service around campus for those who need it. Police is also located on campus.

Health & Safety: Campus Security itself is great. I would feel mostly safe walking at night by myself. I will state that, while living on campus, my apartment was broken into. Additionally, at a party involving a lot of alcohol a friend of mine was raped. Because both partys were intoxicated it became a "He said, She said" and the issue was ignored. This particular guy belonged to a frat with a prominent faculty involvement;thus, she felt pressured from multiple sides to stay quiet. I don't think that Clemson University, aside from their Counseling and Psychological Services program, treats sexual assault as an issue.

Health & Safety: Overall our security is pretty good.

Security phones, police escorts, and lights all over campus help make Clemson a very safe environment for students. The annual Clemson Safe Walk involves students and members of the Clemson community who walk the campus and discuss ways to improve safety. Most students agree that Clemson is an extremely safe campus as long as you take the basic precautionary measures, like walking in a group after dark and locking your doors.

Clemson is a fairly large university located in a rural setting, which makes it an obvious target for theft by outsiders. However, most students will tell you they haven't had any trouble, and there really isn't too much to worry about. As long as you use common sense (lock up your bikes, cars, and apartments, and avoid walking alone at night), you shouldn't have any difficulties with strangers or outsiders.
