Guys & Girls: Clarkies are an eclectic mix. There are the hippie-dippie drum circle types, some Division III jocks, sci-fi nerds and international students from all over the world. Everyone is pretty friendly and welcoming and you can learn a lot from their diverse experiences.

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of people who are friendly and willing to help. There are a few jerks here and there but the friends you make are sincere.

Guys & Girls: I think many students are good-looking, amicable, and diverse. Whatever your interests/type may be there is probably someone there that meets your standards. The only con that I can see is that as a small school it is easy to see people in which you had unsuccessful romantic endeavours.

College Freshman

Guys & Girls: I'm a female myself and I think the majority of females on this campus are attractive and really chill. I've had a few encounters with nasty females, but overall, it's easy to make friends with the females on campus. They are very hipster, and are known for their hipster appearances, which makes Clark really awesome.

If you wanted to shoot a video about hot college students going crazy, you would not choose Clark as your location. The people at Clark are neither all that hot, nor all that crazy. The sexes interact without restriction, but no amount of freedom could bring life to the stale dating scene of Clark University. As far as attractiveness goes, there are few students who stand out above others in the looks department, and the ones who do spend most of the year covered in layers due to the Worcester weather. Because of this, students often think that Clark suddenly receives a truckload of attractive people on the first hot day of spring, when the coats are traded for shorts, and people go tanning on the Green. In fact, they are all the same plain people that were there before, but everyone is so starved for eye candy that their brains start to play tricks on them.

It may be true that Clark won’t win first place in any beauty contests, but aesthetics and looks are not what Clark is about. If you can look past the blandness of the population, you could definitely find the right person to spend your time with. Straight men tend to have a decent chance of finding a fellow Clarkie to date or hook up with because of the lopsided female-to-male ratio. In the same breath, the women at Clark are never in danger of running out of options. For those who tire of seeing the same faces, the college consortium provides many more student bodies to be explored. Try as one might, though, the size of Clark can be a severe hindrance to possible pimps, as one will either gain a bad relationship quickly or run out of prospects fast.

Social Scene
Since Clark is such a small school, there is a lot of interaction between students. This is especially true with members of the same class, since you will all either be stuck going to the same few houses to party every week until you turn 21, or packing into the same two bars every weekend after your 21st birthday. This has its pros and cons. The pro is you easily get to know a ton of people very quickly. The downside of this is that new faces can be harder to come by as time goes on.
Hookups or Relationships?
Hookups seem to be the most often sought after, yet least fulfilled goal at Clark. Many student have gone out one night looking for a random hookup and either come home empty-handed or in a relationship. Random hookups do happen, of course, but due to the size of the school, it seems to be a difficult balancing act to maintain a promiscuous lifestyle without the consequence of a bad reputation.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
Clark has many vantage points for scoping out guys and girls. The Green, class (depending on your major), and especially the caf are simply thin fa├žades for date-hunting grounds. However, although people may do their fair share of looking from these locations, they tend not to use them for new interaction. There are even some girls who go to WPI to meet boys, because of the dearth of them at Clark, and party because WPI has a lot of frat houses. Chances are, unless you are one of the more courageous people at Clark, you will be doing most of your flirting at parties or bars.
Dress Code
Clarkies dress in almost every style. There are those that wake up and feel the need to wear a suit around for the day. Others are fine in a pair of sandals and ripped cut-off shorts. Many athletes don the all-sweat-clothes look, and most others just look nice in a simple T-shirt and jeans. Whether you like to dress very conservative or very outlandish, the distasteful looks from fellow students will be few, if any.
