3 College Sophomore

Athletics: we are a division 3 school, sports isnt a huge thing here

College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I don't have a car this semester, so it's hard for me to really judge what we have off-campus.

3 College Freshman

Computers: The internet on campus has completely stopped working twice this year so far, but normally is fixed within a day.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: The need for transportation at CNU is extremely minimal. Our campus is all walking- streets don't even run through the campus. When someone needs to go home they either have a friend drop them off at the airport or train station, or they just find someone to ride with who lives in a similar area.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: You have to know where to go and who to be with. The area surrounding campus can be very dangerous- especially at night. Big wild "college" parties don't happen often.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: The area surrounding our school can become dangerous if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. CNU requires students to live on campus for three years, so there is not much opportunity to live off-campus anyway. I have friends that live in houses within walking distance from school, and for the most part the houses are very nice. From what I understand, the landlords are not difficult to handle and policies are reasonable.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Our school has a wide variety of individuals, but on a small scale. The majority of our student body is white, but nobody really ever stops to consider that factor because everyone is undeniably a part of our community. I have not seen any discrimination toward race, economic background, beliefs, or sexual orientation, which makes me proud to be a Captain.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The workload for a Business Management major as a freshman is not bad at all, though I expect it to get worse. All of the professors and classes are great so far.

3 College Freshman

Weather: It tends to rain a lot here. Lately it has been cold then warm the next day and back and forth.

3 College Freshman

Computers: There are plenty of computers and computer labs, but it is easier to just have your own computer. Sometimes the Wifi goes out, but I don't usually have a problem.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on campus. I have never had to see the nurse but I've heard she can't do everything a regular doctor can.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: There seems to be pretty good diversity on campus, but there probably could be more. I haven't heard or seen anyone not accepting each other's beliefs/religion/sexual orientation, everyone kind of just does what they want.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Newport News is such a big town that there are lots of things to do and plenty of beaches to go to too.
