5 College Sophomore

Athletics: CNU has some of the nicest athletic facilities. Being a D3 school, students cannot receive scholarships for playing a sport, which also means that CNU focuses on the "student"-athlete, rather than just the "athlete".

College Sophomore

Greek Life: I am not involved in Greek life but do know that they are welcomed by the entire CNU community.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: CNU's campus is one of the most beautiful locations to visit. When someone steps on campus, the scenery and architecture immediately draws them in.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Most students tend to stay on-campus unless visiting friends living off-campus or going the beach. Patrick Henry Mall nearby is a nice option for any shopping that needs to be done!

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I applied for financial aid and only received loan money. I will not be taking out any loans in the future years.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: CNU provides a high level of safety to its students. Requiring students to sign their guests in when staying in the residence hall may seem like a pain to some, but ensures all precautions are being taken in case of an emergency.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: No complaints about the food, except more variety would be nice. It seemed like the dining halls were on something like a 3-week rotation, which made me less excited to enjoy my meals.

Academics: CNU has a wide variety of majors and minors to fit any student's dreams. The registration process, while hectic, allows students to plan their schedule exactly how they like, all online. The professors always work with students to make sure classroom material is being understood and synthesized, not just "read".

College Sophomore

Academics: I just finished my first year, so I have not yet taken any classes in my major.

College Sophomore

Nightlife: I do not party, therefore I have nothing to base these answers off of.

Overall Experience: Christopher Newport is a stand-out university. It has the feel of a smaller school with a small student:teacher ratio, but the life of a large school. Everyone is so involved and it is evident through the students what a wonderful place CNU is to grow and learn.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: CNU does a wonderful job of preparing students during their time in college and after graduation. There are several events held on campus throughout the year to provide students the opportunity to network with different employers for internships or even full-time jobs, post grad.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I will be living on-campus all four years, due to the scholarships I received through CNU.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: I haven't noticed much diversity since living on-campus, but I know that with our small diversity population, there is never any judgment or nonacceptance among groups.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: CNU has some of the most safe, comfortable and welcoming residence halls I've ever visited!

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life is well known on campus! It is defiantly something to consider!

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I live off campus and would not tade it! I love having my own place!

3 College Junior

Nightlife: Cnu is not a big party school but considering I simply want an education I am okay with this

3 College Junior

Diversity: There is some diversity at cnu but not as much as there could be

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Cnu is considered a dry campus which helps with a lot of issues many other schools face

4 College Junior

Academics: Cnu has a very well known business school that students compete to join

4 College Junior

Academics: There are many students involved in the business school which is very nice

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I personally do not live on campus so I do not have any advice

3 College Junior

Majors: Usually internships are full time positions, but the locations are very convenient!

4 College Junior

Majors: My best advise would be to start early, there's is always more to do than you think!
