Academics: I am a Art Major with a concentration in Graphic Design and I love it. So far I have only completed 1 art course and 1 Graphic Design course but I am very confident. Being an art major, you will need alot of feed back from your professors about your work and my professors are good with that. They complement me on my work but they also tell me things to help me better my work. If you are stuck in a "artist block" they try to talk you through it and inspire you to think. Art is heavy workload alone, so sometimes it is a challenge when I have a paper due around the same time as an art project.

I have heard from my professors that every year there are Art and Graphic Design internships available to seniors and sometimes juniors and I'm excited about that.

The Mac lab that we use for my Graphic Design courses are amazing. The Macs come equipped with Photoshop and Illustrator so don't worry about purchasing it.

However I wish they would redo the studios in the basement. They are very bland and it can be hot down there because of the poor air conditioning. There is a rumor going around that they are going to redo that whole building next year or the year after next. I hope they do it before I graduate.

Computers: I don't go to the main computer labs because I have my own laptop.

I have my own printer also. But having your own computer and printer is not a necessity. (unless you are lazy and you don't want to walk to the computer lab to do a paper at the middle of the night... like me lol)

I am a Graphic Design student, so I have to use the Mac lab, which is only for Graphic Design students. That lab is pretty nice; All Mac computers, a printer and a scanner. It's never crowded. If my computer happens to crash I will use that lab.

Diversity: There's a great mix of people at Christian Brothers. Even down to the organizations and classrooms there is good diversity.

Weather: Memphis weather is very flip flop sometimes. One day it's warm and sunny. Next day it's cold and rainy. Since the campus is small there isn't much of a hassle getting to class in the rain. There arch covered walkways that lead to different buildings to protect you from the rain. But the walk from the dorm to those walkways you will have no protection.

Campus Dining: There are 3 different dining options on campus: Alfonzo dining hall, The Buccaneer Grill, and Canale Cafe.
Alfonzo is a cafeteria that is buffet style. There are different things served at different times of day and everyday. Fresh salad, deserts, different flavors of ice cream, pizza, and cheeseburgers, cereal are constantly available. And there are lots of different kinds of beverages. With your student ID, you can eat here an unlimited amount of times. You don't have to count your meals.
Buccaneer Grill, or most commonly nicknamed "The Buc," is alot like a fast food restaurant. It has a menu were you can order stuff like cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, fries and chicken nuggets. The Buc also has alot of different snacks and drinks, kinda like a convenience store. However, to pay for your food you have to use money or buc dollars. (You can get 50 or 100 buc dollars per semester depending on your plan) I have the 50 buc dollar plan and I haven't used up all my bucs from last semester.
I don't know much about the Canale Cafe because I only been there once. It has a Starbucks-y type vibe. They have different kinds of drinks and wraps. I ordered a smoothie and it was pretty good. I don't know if Canale takes buc dollars because I paid for my smoothie in cash.

Scholarships: There aren't really a lot of scholarship here but there are some nice ones.

Drug Safety: It is a wet campus so students 21 and over are allowed to drink but sometimes it just so happens that they throw a party and underage students slip under the radar. I honestly haven't witnessed or heard of any drug usage here.

Academics: I am a psychology major here at CBU and I love it! The professors are amazing, the advisors are helpful and the students....well we're amazing too. We have a senior practicum which entails us interning at a place of our choice. I can't wait for that! The workload isn't all that bad....The professors and other people in the department are all willing to help us with whatever it is whether school or personal or if we just want to chat. They know us by our names....we aren't just a number here.

Academics: I came to CBU as a Biology major and quickly changed to Psychology within my first semester. The professors, advisors, and chairs of the departments are nice for the most part. Some of them can be very blunt with you and can even hurt your feelings. The workload can be a bit overwhelming when you are transitioning from high school to college and everything is now on the computer instead of handed to you. Some of the resources are just wastes of time while some of them are really helpful. Some of the teachers are understanding while others believe that everything can be forseen and it's your responsibility to forsee all accidents and technical failures

Diversity: There is a wide variety of students of race and intelligence.

Local Atmosphere: Nice malls. Not many fun places for teens/young adults. Very rough city.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel safe walking at night. there is always a security guard or a police officer in site.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: They are not ALL strict but keep us safe during day and at night.

3 College Freshman

Academics: Professors are quite learned even if they give quite a bit of work

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The food is not very good, but the non-cafeteria is good

3 College Freshman

Parking: On-campus parking is plentiful, but no need for a car.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Christian Brothers has its own police department on campus that has its own building in the middle of campus for students to have access to if needed. The officers are very polite and sociable with the students(it's common to see students eating lunch with an officer). Overall they create as safe atmosphere on campus without an overbearing feel.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: I absolutely love it here!!! The campus is beautiful during any season, I look forward to seeing how it will look if it snows!! The teachers are very student oriented, they want to see us succeed, even the president of the school sometimes stops to talk with the students in the halls about how they are doing in their classes and if there is anything that he can do to make their college experience any better.

3 College Freshman

Computers: I give the computer a B+ because sometimes they move pretty slow and the labs and library can get crowded very often, even late at night. Another reason is because the wireless connection is not very good on some areas of the campus such as some of the dorms.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Christian Brothers is very accepting of people from all nationalities and ethnic backgrounds as well as people from varying economic situations. Most of the people that I've met so far are from different countries and we all get along fine. The instructors tailor their teaching methods for students to include every group as much as possible.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The parties and activites on campus often times adn very slim but extremely fun when they are on campus.

5 College Junior

Academics: Chemical engineering is the hardest major. It is difficult and demands all of your time. You will be overworked and sleep deprived, but it is worth it in the end. The salary is great. If you are lazy don't go for chemical engineering. The professors are hard, but really good!

5 College Junior

Majors: I love chemical engineering, but it is extremely hard. The professors are great!

4 College Junior

Majors: I have not had one yet, but there is a lot involved in chemical engineering internships. Our professors are always helping us to get internships. The pay is good, but there is a big responsibility.

4 College Junior

Majors: Engineering is difficult. You need a high GPA, good scores in math and science on the ACT, and you have to pass placement exams.
