Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Apply as an undecided major if you are a transfer student.
  • Be creative, especially if applying to Dodge. As one of the top film schools in the country, Chapman is looking for innovative students.
  • Get a lot of leadership experience before applying.
  • Get involved with many extracurricular activities-the more diverse, the better.
  • Let your personality shine through in your essay-don't just write about what you think the school wants to hear.
  • Make sure you have a strong letter of recommendation.
  • Participate in activities that could be applied toward your intended major.
  • Visit the campus-the tour guides also have a lot of tips that may help when applying.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Bring a car to Chapman. It is impossible to get around Southern California without one.
  • Bring earplugs because the dorms are very loud.
  • Get a bike if you are going to be at the film school-it is about three blocks from the main campus.
  • Get a Disneyland pass.
  • If you are going to go Greek, do so freshman year.
  • You don't need to read the book for orientation week.
Interviews & Information Sessions
Informational sessions are held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and run under an hour.
