Off-Campus Dining: We do have off campus restaurants, but they are more catered to the rest of the community rather than to the students attending college. We have McDonald's, Arby's, Pizza Hut, Subway, Taco John's, and a few other locally run businesses. There are no student discounts for average students, but the athletes can take advantage of free subway sandwiches anytime. There is also a Safeway and Walmart to provide students with groceries and frozen meals.

Drug Safety: Your not going to stop kids completely from doing drugs or drinking if that's what their mind is set on doing

College Sophomore

Nightlife: Don't go out in the town of Chadron

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I don't eat off campus so I have no clue

Majors: They help out a tone with not only teaching how to work but preparing students for the future

College Sophomore

Scholarships: No scholarships or financial aid

Weather: The weather is up and down

Campus Housing: The cost is very convenient

Transportation: We do not have campus provided transportation. Campus and town are both very small, you can walk anywhere in 15-20 minutes. Only takes about 10 minutes to walk from one end of campus to the other.

Health & Safety: I see campus security at events. That's about it. But we have a school nurse who is free and a clinic up at the hospital just for college kids that is nice.

Academics: We don't have many programs of study here. Mostly, it's an education school. We also have a lot of people in the Rangeland Management program. They cut the program I was entering the semester before I started here, which upset me a lot because it was the last of its kind in the state. We only have three history professors which makes the course rotation hard to be done in 4 years with. Workload is normal. I have a museum studies minor, which I love. Wish it were a major.

Campus Housing: We have several options for housing on campus. They are all older dorms, but that's okay. They could be updated some; new electrical outlets, better wifi reception, sound-proofing walls, etc. Laundry is expensive. But all the dorms are pretty close to classes.

Nightlife: There aren't many places to go for fun at night. You can go bowling or to the movies. We have a few bars, but if you're a minor then that isn't much fun. There are activities on campus every night, so there is always something to do if you are bored. But there could be more.

Scholarships: I did not receive any scholarships, even with a high GPA from the schools I have previously attended, just because I didn't have an associates degree when I transferred. If you aren't in sports, good luck getting scholarships.

Off-Campus Housing: Some students live off campus, especially the rodeo team members who have to keep their horses boarded on their own. Most students who live off campus live with family or friends. They mostly live off campus so they can drink in their own homes. No alcohol is allowed on campus.

Local Atmosphere: Chadron is a small town. It's the same size as my hometown, but my hometown has more options for shopping and dining. Chadron is in the middle of nowhere. You have to drive at least an hour and a half to get to any decent shopping and restaurants. Only a few bars in town. Nice enough movie theater. Not many options for work aside from Walmart. We have three state parks nearby for recreation. Never any concerts. No professional sports teams in the area. The townspeople are pretty used to us college kids and are very friendly and helpful people. The town is fairly safe. I never hear about accidents. But we have had some drug busts on campus.

Diversity: We have a lot of international students. We have an International Students Club. We also have several international students who teach casual foreign language classes. We have an LGBT club and Chi Alpha Campus Ministry. We do not have any political groups on campus aside from any groups run by the justice studies program.

Greek Life: We do not have Greek life on campus aside from academic groups.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: Computers on campus are decent. Some labs have touch screen monitors, while other labs have keyboards that barely function. The wireless is slow to load any video or music and your devices get thrown off the wireless often. Only allowed 3 devices on the wireless. Printing is free, when there is paper and ink available, which isn't always there. You could probably make it without a laptop, but the computer labs are loud and you might not get your work done as quickly as in your own room on a laptop.
