Campus Strictness: When students park on the curb, the police are quick to give out a yellow slip for parking violations and tow cars when the student only parks there for a couple of minutes.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: In order to enjoy the nightlife you would need to own a vehicle of you own or know a friend that drives. make sure you dress your best because it is always a dress-fashion contest. Make sure you have enough money to enjoy outdoor endeavors

2 College Junior

Athletics: The Athletics Schedule constantly conflicts with the student life schedule making it impossible for me to go to the games and show school pride. The Football team is at a rebuilding stage from losing more than one coach and trying to adapt to a new strategy. Basketball team is improving on their skills however they lose their determination within the half of the game and stop playing.

Scholarships: When you apply for Fasfa, you have to make sure all documentation required is filled out and sent to the Financial Aid Office here at Central State University. The Financial Aid front desk workers are usually clueless at some of the requirements asked from a students so I advise you to take a number and talk with a Financial Aid Specialist to make sure that you are squared away. Once you do that, before buying books see if you qualify for Work-study and a Book Advance before you buy anything from the expensive bookstore. When applying for scholarships make sure you meet the requirements and give all require documentation.

Guys & Girls: When I am on campus, I don't see much PDA so most of the people here carry themselves accordingly when in the public. However, when the weather tends to be warmer, a lot of the students tend to wear less clothing, especially the girls. There are so many ways to grab a guys attention but I don't totally agree with crop tops and see through leggings when the sun decides to come out. Professionalism is key when you are going to college to obtain your degree.

Greek Life: The Greek life on Central State's campus is great. No you don't have to join to enjoy parties, they make it live and entertaining. They will inspire you to join with their amazing talents.

Weather: Ohio have many changes of weather, but for majority it's fair on campus.

3 College Freshman

Parking: I'm not really certain about the parking qualifications because I don't drive a car on campus.

Health & Safety: Central State's campus is relatively safe. Campus police are always around and there when you need them. Also, the RA's and hall coordinators are always on duty in your dorm hall if needed.

Campus Housing: The best dorms to live in are Harry Johns or Fox. They are the honors dorms are they are the newest buildings. They are very spacious and most residents seem to like it. I lived in Foundation Hall II, 2 years of 3. These are suite-style coeds and I like them, but they are not the best. Both Foundation Hall II and Foundation Hall I can sometimes stink and are dirty. Green and Anderson are all-male. I cannot speak on it too much because I am a female and have never lived in these halls.

Diversity: Although this is an HBCU, we have a few Hispanic and Caucasian students. Most people are accepted for who they are. We have plenty of LGBT students and in my three years here, I have never seen any hate crimes happen on campus. Some people will always have their ways and attitudes, but for the most part, most students accept each other for who they are.

Transportation: We have Greene Cats which provides service from our campus all over Xenia. This bus cost $1.50 one way and comes every hour and a half Mondays-Fridays. I have taken it in town, it is a little time-consuming but I will do it again if need be.

Computers: How are we supposed to get our schoolwork finish when the wi-fi disconnects every five minutes, the printers in the library have been broken for weeks, and the computers break down it seems as soon as the wind blows. Thankfully, I have my own computer, but I feel bad for the students that don't. This is utterly ridiculous and something needs to be done about it.

Academics: As a communications major, I am learning things that some of my friends at other institutions are not learning. It could be better, but it is not bad. I cannot complain. I believe that I will be equally prepared for the workforce as someone from Northwestern University or USC.

Athletics: Our football team isn't great and our basketball team is decent. Regardless of the score, most students come out for football games and basketball games.

Nightlife: Xenia has no nightclubs or bars to my knowledge. A lot of off-campus parties are held at Union Hall. The scene is nice and I have never had any issues there. However, when going out please be smart and don't go off by yourself or act crazy.

Greek Life: Central State has all NPHC organizations except Zeta Phi Beta which is on suspension. We also have Mu Phi Epsilon Music Fraternity and Tau Beta Sigma Band Sorority. No one really cares whether or not you're Greek and everyone treats each other nice, regardless of their affiliation or lack thereof.

Off-Campus Dining: The only two places that will deliver to Central State's campus is Asian Buffet and Cousin Vinny's Pizza. Neither restaurant is expensive, but neither is my favorite. The food is edible but it's nothing I necessarily crave. It's usually something I eat on Friday nights if I miss the cafeteria dinner.

Overall Experience: Central State University has made me the woman I am today. Everyday I am learning and growing. We might be a public HBCU, but we can compete with anyone from another other college and are just as prepared for our careers as those from big-name institutions.

Weather: The weather is a bipolar roller coaster. One day it is sunny, 60 degrees spring-like day and the next it is snowing and 30 degrees. A lot of times when it is warm, it is rainy. So be prepared for crazy temperatures that might possibly get you sick.

2 College Junior

Guys & Girls: As I stated before I am a non-traditional (older) student, so the dress codes of today's youth is some what disturbing to me to say the least. I believe students should dress for class as if they were going into the office, with casual day on Friday.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: You must stay vigilant and make sure all of your documents are submitted and most importantly make sure you keep a copy of all documentation.

Computers: The computer labs are very easily accessible and plentiful on campus, I have never had any issues with the network and best of all printing is free.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I am what is called a non-traditional student so I do not live on campus. However I have seen some of the community areas and took a tour of the dorms and other then being a bit outdated they were clean and safe for all.

3 College Freshman

Majors: The majors here are good, but they could be better. The workload is heavy at times, but it is manageable. The facilities are close enough to the dorms and other buildings. with a few changes it could be great.
