Online Courses: The online classes at Central Carolina are excellent. You have enough time to complete your assignments. Everything is thoroughly organized. There is a powerpoint to review and a discussion board for the students to connect on. The professors are still available to answer any questions or even meet with you if you need help. The online course option is great for part-time, non-tradional students as well as full time, traditional students.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Central Carolina's education is quite a value, and worth every penny! The costs are very fair and affordable. I feel like I have learned so much valuable information in such a short amount of time. I always have a connection with the professors, and its is apparent that they care about my success. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Career Services: Central Carolina has a College and Career Readiness program that helps adults acquire the skills needed to live a self-sufficient life. The program includes basic adult education, GED, and English as a second language. It focuses on reading, writing, math, and communication.

Campus Resources: At Central Carolina, the library is the place to be. The library is a great resource whether you need to print off important documents, utilize the internet, or check out a book. When I was studying for my TEAs test for my dental hygiene application, I was able to check out their TEAs studyguide for free! And the friendly staff even helped me locate the book. The library is huge and quiet, too. I would definitely recommend the library as a place to get studying done in between classes!

Campus Resources: There are several computer labs on campus for the students to use at Central Carolina in addition to the library computers. The computers run smoothly and the internet speed is fast. There are clear directions near the computers in the library as to how to print documents out, and the staff is ready answer any questions students may have. Today's technology does come with frustration at times, but not at Central Carolina!

Academic Experience: Central Carolina offers a variety of great associate degrees. Some of the careers the college can prepare its students for include nursing, cosmetology, esthetics, dental hygiene, dental assisting, accounting, barbering, and business administration. The school is filled with great professors who want to help students obtain their career goals. The school also offers a program called "C-Step," or Carolina Student Transfer Excellence Program, which helps students successfully transfer to UNC. Students who participate in C-Step are more likely to have a smoother transition and more likely to graduate.

Academic Experience: Being a pre-dental hygiene student at Central Carolina is hard work. The prerequisites include Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Intro to Computers, and Algebra. The program tends to be competitive as the college can only accept 14 students each year to the dental program (it used to be 12). However, if you are willing to give it your all, you are certainly at the right place! The professors are amazing and they care about your success!

Overall Experience: My favorite experience at Central Carolina thus far was taking Anatomy and Physiology with Dr. Witcher! I thoroughly enjoyed her lectures and labs! She kept class really interesting, but more importantly she was able to break down some really complicated information! Dr. Witcher was always available outside of class for review or clarification as well. Although that course was certainly a brain work out, I miss it!!!

Facilities: The unique thing about Central Carolina is its professors. The professors at the school truly care about the students' success. They go above and beyond for the students to understand and appreciate their knowledge, and have clever ways for you to remember and relate to the information. Class time is really enjoyable there, and its not just about getting classes "under your belt."

Academic Flexibility: Towards the end of my first semester at Central Carolina, one of my classmates had a death in her family. She was absolutely devastated. She talked with the professor and the administration, and they were willing to accommodate her if she needed so that this circumstance would not have a negative impact on her final exam.

Student Body: At Central Carolina there are a lot of different students - a good mix of the traditional students and non-traditional students. However, despite age, everyone is very friendly. I was able to find a wonderful group of students to study with during my first few days of class! I have also found that the students seem to be extremely motivated in obtaining their goals - which is great because it is infectious!
