4 College Sophomore

Career Services: My school is a 2 year school, but lots of people from my program are finding jobs or switching for better jobs.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I attend classes in the evening, which works out for me, because I have a full-time job. But for the most part we are able to do our classwork and labs without running over. The best part about this program is that tutoring is offered at the end of week, which allows time to really get a great fill for what we are working on.

Academic Experience: I like coming into the HVAC program without real world experience, I'm not over looked by the teacher from this school. Everyone for the admin office to whole HVAC team of teacher are there to help us succeed. This is not a waste of my time and I believe I'm gonna change my life.

Overall Experience: Everything is great except for the school spirit.

College Student

Academic Experience: I'm going to start in the summer.

Academic Experience: I haven't heard about special study groups.

Online Courses: Everything about is is great!

Campus Resources: A bigger gym would be nice.

Student Body: Cedar Valley students make up mixture of ethnic groups. A lot of the students are employees as well. There are not that many students who are politically in tuned, but you will come across some that are. Religious beliefs of students are more secretly than they are open. I feel that there are no challenges of acceptance when it comes to diversity.

Academic Flexibility: My convenient experience has been wonderful. I have been able to set time frames which work out for me each semester. I am also a part time worker, so I was worried class would bump heads with my work schedule, but it worked out. I do not know how good the transferring of credits work since I have not transferred any yet, but a lot of people I know who have went off to universities have had no problems.

Facilities: The biggest thing that separates Cedar Valley from other schools would be the price of tuition, which is a big factor for a college student. Although Cedar Valley is not that large of a school, they offer a lot of academic programs, but are known for their automotive and music technology. Throughout the campus there are benches and stools where the typical students gather around to talk. In one of the buildings there is a game room for students to hang out. Other than that, the most popular places students hang out would be the cafeteria, the library and the science building. One of the unique opportunities Cedar Valley offers is early college credits. That is high school students have the chance to work on their college degrees before they're in college.

Career Services: Due to the fact that Cedar Valley is a Two year college, not many programs for post grads are available.

Online Courses: My experience with online courses have been good, but at the same time not the best. In my opinion, it is always easier to fall behind in online courses vs on campus courses. One of the main differences between the two would be online courses allow you to complete assignments at your own pace. Another would be you do not really get the same interaction experience with students that you would if you were on campus. The workload is very manageable, just make sure that you use your time wisely. The professor usually makes students participate in discussion boards to talk about various topics, this is one way in which students get to interact with one another and the professor.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I believe the tuition fees at Cedar Valley are well worth it! Without a doubt, I feel that I am getting my moneys worth for each class that I take. I have never had any bad experiences with the financial aid office, but my advice would be to apply for financial aid right when it opens up, which is typically in January!

Academic Experience: Being a Psychology major while attending Cedar Valley focuses more on completing my basics. Cedar Valley does not have a wide branch of Psychology classes, but they have a few. One unique aspect about being a Psychology major at Cedar Valley is that the professor who teaches general Psychology Dr. Meachem is a excellent professor without a doubt. The workload of the courses in which one takes is very manageable. The faculties are broad, which include free tutoring, computers on campus and excellent advisers. Students who need jobs can always find flyers and information of boards across campus and in the main building where registration takes place.

Academic Experience: There are a ton of Academics available ranging from Accounting to criminal justice. There are many good professors and with Cedar Valley being a two year school, it gives you the chance to have one on one conversations with your professors and get to know them. You can start your curriculum off with your basics and continue once you transfer to a four year university. The class registration process is not only easy, but very flexible as well! The workload is college level and can be easily managed. Cedar Valley offers work study for students interested. There are usually special study options where a student can try something new. For example, this year there is a study abroad program that is taking place in Europe!

Academic Flexibility: The experience in my school is very different from which I had imagined. That it would only be homework, lectures, and classes that I needed to take to graduate, but the teachers made it easier on the students and helping in what they needed to succeed in academics and other things to prepare us for the real world or the big world that is ahead of us.

4 College Senior

Facilities: The unique thing from other school that my school is next to a college and that the school is also next to the wood. My school is more interested in the academics that than other things that others school do such as sports and other types of club others school have in the campus and also we study and take college classes during our high school years.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: There is many things that I like about the school I attend, because it give me the advantages that others don't have. Such as, the college itself pay for the classes I take in their college while attending high school.

College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I don't actually pay for my college classes, but the college itself does. I use their money they spent to use appropriately and efficiently.

College Senior

Career Services: The main reason is because I don't know what that actually means.

3 College Senior

Online Courses: The load work of the assignments in the class room is more than a high school level. The professor/student relationship different because there is less interaction between them and the lecture are done of the speed of the professor not of the students. The interaction of the peer-to-peer is more because the students the help of each other for them to understand the lecture of the professor that they didn't understand. The main thing is that the high school and college are in a very far level in academics. College more difficult than anything else in academics in a person and very different.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: My school is a early college so there are a few more resources than regular high school' schools, but there are other types of resources that are needed but my school doesn't have because its all about the academics. There student centers, a library, and a gym. My school is a high school associated with a college.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: The computer network is okay, because it DISD network. My school is a high school so the network is in a good standing.
