Local Atmosphere: There are plenty of clubs and activities offered on campus, which provide a nice stress relief. However, it is recommended that you are comfortable with buses or have some other modes of transportation, as the school is not particularly practical in that regard. Meaning if you have a pharmacy like CVS, or a grocery card membership that is not local, you may not be able to go to said establishments unless you can find your own transportation. As fall as recollection goes, students tend to be able to find transportation to Walmart (rarely), or target once at the beginning of every semester. Other than that the school tends to cater to trips to the mall/movies, bowling, or clubbing.

The part of Allentown where Cedar Crest is located is not what most students think of as a typical "college town" atmosphere. The closest forms of entertainment include Dorney Park, a large amusement park, and the bars in downtown Allentown. Although students who are 21-and-up travel in groups to downtown Allentown, it's generally not regarded as a particularly safe area of town.

Students who are able to travel a little farther out can access the social scenes of the many other colleges in the area, as well as the art and music events and festivals of downtown Bethlehem.
