College Junior

Health & Safety: I can't review this yet.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: There is only a doctor available two days a week at Health Services. I've always been able to get an appointment, though, or the Director of Health Services is willing to examine me instead.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There's not really much of a safety concern, except regarding guests. Occasionally, girls will let people into the dorm if they happen to be a familiar face. Regardless, of the possibility they may not be a student at cedar Crest (say a boy/girlfriend, a relative, ect.). There has in fact, been a floor hall meeting in which the RA's had to tell the girls half-way into the school year not to do so. this should not be something that is addressed half-way through the year. Moreover, some people argue that this rule is common sense, if it must be addressed half-way through the year it is not.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Security on campus is great. They always answer the phone and will be to any place almost momentarily. They assist with opening locked doors and classrooms that you would need to get into.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The campus police are wonderful. There are call boxes throughout campus and you always see the campus police walking and driving about. If your car is snowed in they will stop to help you. If you are in a building late at night and don't feel safe walking to your car or back to your dorm you can call them and they will escort you. Also, if you are a commuter and don't feel safe drivng home due to weather conditions they will find you a place on campus to stay for the night.

Cedar Crest's campus is small and very safe. There isn't any traffic, which adds to the security of the environment. Cedar Crest has its own campus police team that consists of 18 full-time and part-time officers; they are always visible on campus and available 24/7 to provide escort services to students. There are also 14 emergency call-boxes around campus.

The campus is very conscious of the well-being of its students and offers the "Healthy U" program, which aims to keep students physically fit and eating well. Health Services offers general medical care, physical exams, routine gynecological services, allergy injections, and immunizations. Many students complain that Health Services is not very helpful when you are sick, so when you need a doctor or a service not available on campus, the Lehigh Valley Hospital is nearby, right on Cedar Crest Boulevard.
