Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Apply as soon as you're ready. Cedar Crest is on a rolling admissions system, so you can apply and get your acceptance letter all before the application deadlines at other schools have passed.
  • Ask questions! The admissions staff at Cedar Crest is friendly, helpful, and more than willing to talk with you.
  • Be passionate. Even if you're not sure what you want to major in, show that you can excel and persist in the things that interest you.
  • Be ready to grow as a person and as a student.
  • Be unique! Especially at Cedar Crest, students are more than a set of test scores and grade point averages. Don't be afraid to let your personality come through in your application.
  • Highlight your leadership skills and experiences. Cedar Crest is a women's college that wants to educate the next generation of leaders.
  • Identify why Cedar Crest is a good fit for you and why you're a good fit for Cedar Crest. Take the time to pinpoint exactly what you hope to learn and what you plan to contribute to the campus atmosphere.
  • Include your engagement in community service on your application.
  • Keep your grades strong. Use your senior year to show that you're academically ready for college.
  • Use your essay to showcase your personality and what motivates you as a student and as a person. The essay is a great place to tell the admissions staff things it can't gather from reading your transcripts and resume.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • College classes are very different from high school classes! Every professor at Cedar Crest wants you to succeed, but you are responsible for your own learning.
  • It's important to get involved in the College community right away! Potential friends are everywhere-in your residence hall or at the meeting of a club you're thinking of joining.
  • Textbooks are expensive! The bookstore is convenient, but most of the time, you can find the same books online for a lot less.
