Campus Housing: I do not live on campus but many of my friends do. There are three residence halls which are very nice. The campus is small so you can easily walk to class, the dining hall, theater etc... The college offers weekly activities for residents including special events, movies, games, etc..

Local Atmosphere: The campus is located in Allentown, PA withing walking distance to the campus are Many restaurants, theaters, and shopping. Dorney Park is 5 minutes away and the Discovery Center (A Science Center) is on campus. Twenty minutes away is the Iron Pigs Baseball, the Allentown Symphony Hall, and The Allentown Museum. Buses are available next to the campus as well as the campus has vans to take you shopping, to Musikfest or other area special events.

Health & Safety: The campus police are wonderful. There are call boxes throughout campus and you always see the campus police walking and driving about. If your car is snowed in they will stop to help you. If you are in a building late at night and don't feel safe walking to your car or back to your dorm you can call them and they will escort you. Also, if you are a commuter and don't feel safe drivng home due to weather conditions they will find you a place on campus to stay for the night.

Academics: The CPA certificate curriculum is aligned to the classes you will need to be successful in an accounting career; as well as, aligned to the CPA exam. There are no nonessential courses in this program. Many of your courses use a program called Connect for your homework. This program allows you to do your homework and check to see if you have it right before submitting it. if you are stuck on a question there are hints to help you. Another feature of this program is the Learn Smart which is a series of questions for each chapter for you to use to review for the tests and quizzes. The head of the Accounting Department is very kind and helpful. she will help you decide which path you wish to take with your degree since there are hundreds of options. She will also help you to get an internship as long as you try your best in school.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Cedar Crest College is an excellent school. There are many student activities and study a broad options. The registration process is easy and the counselors are very helpful.

Off-Campus Dining: We are surrounded by a lot of fast food restaurants (like Mcdonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's) and dining restaurants (like Friendly's and Perkin's) that students can easily walk to-10 mins tops. The cost is pretty average, unless you go to other dining options such as Pistachio Bar and Grille. A lot of students LOVE going to Menchie's frozen yogurt. We hold a lot of fundraisers there for school clubs and athletics.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: The most popular majors are Nursing, education, and Psychology. The nursing program has been nationally recognized. The professors on campus have received tons of awards and recognitions. For nursing, you do not have to worry about an internship because your junior and senior years are spent doing clinical.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I love the nursing program. Although i haven't been officially accepted into the nursing program yet (it happens at the end of this spring semester), I know the program is top notch. When people see you're a nursing student from cedar crest, they know you're great. As of right now I look towards being an RN specializing in Neuroscience or Pediatrics. Independent Practicum in senior year will allow me to specifically focus on one specialty and see if i would have an interest in it.

Attending Cedar Crest is truly a unique experience. Like any college, there are always aspects of the institution that could be improved, but Cedar Crest provides every student with the opportunity to be a member of a vibrant, diverse community of passionate and empowered women. At Cedar Crest, your classmates are also your friends, and students are really encouraged to actively participate in everything that interests them. You always hear about college being a place to discover who you are and what you want to do with your life and a list of other clichés, but at Cedar Crest, you can really see that happen.

Students leave Cedar Crest well prepared for their careers and as a part of a  network of Cedar Crest alumnae from across the country who look back at the College as the place where they discovered the field that they're really passionate about or the campus where they began lifelong friendships. Weighing the positive and negative aspects, many students would choose Cedar Crest again. On top of being academically strong, engaged in the surrounding community, and dedicated to providing opportunities for women's leadership, Cedar Crest is just a genuinely fun place to spend your college years.
