4 College Junior

Health & Safety: The campus police is very friendly. Once I was very sick and needed medical attention so the police drove me to the hospital.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I just love how friendly everybody is on campus.

4 College Junior

Majors: I had no difficulties getting into my program. All you have to do is maintain a 2.0 or higher.

4 College Junior

Majors: I really love the psychology program. But there are some downsides to it; such as the professors who give you exams at the last minute without giving you at least 3 days to study for it. The workload is pretty fair; if you are an adult student expect to have 10 times more work to do than a traditional student seeing the classes are shorter. No class at this university is easy.

Local Atmosphere: The University is located in Oakland which is pretty much college town. There are 2 other major universities nearby. Thrusday night is the best night to go out in Oakland, seeing most students from the Universities hangout down in all the resturants and go to surrounding areas.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: The financial aid advisors are very nice to help you plan out ways to pay for your education. Most people at this school receive financial aid.

3 College Junior

Majors: I haven't completed any internships yet. There is a student career center that helps students with finding internships. Also the university has on campus internship informational sessions.

4 College Junior

Majors: I am actually pleased with the Psychology program. I love my advisor and wouldn't ever change my major. The only thing that can be a problem at times with the Psychology program is the fact that there aren't a lot of tutors to help out students once past a certain level in the program. My career goals is to either be a student success coach or to be a admissions advisor at a college. If neither of these happen for me I would be happy working with at risk teens.

Computers: There are tons of computer labs on campus. Unless it is midterms or finals there isn't a problem finding a empty or quiet computer lab on campus. The university gives enough for printing and there is wireless on campus.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There is many places in Oakland where students can go get something to eat. There are some places that are fast food options; and there are some nice sit down resturants. Most places are reasonable in price, but there are very little student discounts.

3 College Junior

Weather: The University makes it as easy as possible to get around campus. Even when the weather is bad there isn't a slick spot on the sidewalk! The bad part about this University is that if its darn near a blizzard outside, school isn't cancelled.

3 College Junior

Transportation: I would say it is okay getting to and from school. It is very convient for shopping and food, for on campus students. Also there is a lot of shopping for the on campus students if they decide to take public transportation.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: I would say that everybody on campus is casual when it comes to the way a typical student looks. As far as the social life on campus, everybody pretty much knows everybody because the university is small.

4 College Junior

Diversity: The diversity on campus is great. Everybody is so friendly and open towards others.

College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus and based on what my friends tell me, I probably wouldn't.

2 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Carlow is a dry campus so everyone either goes to a friends apartment, a Pitt party, or the bar.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Scholarships are limited so definitely do your research if you want to go here.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: The number of majors offered is low but Carlow is pretty small which allows for more focus on the more popular majors like nursing, education, and biology.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I'm a biology major at Carlow so I take pride in the title. The curriculum can be pretty intense but the professors are great and always willing to help. The labs in the science hall are have great equipment and are well suited for the biology and chemistry majors.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: I go home on weekends.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Everything for me went pretty smoothly.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I'm in Early Childhood/Special Ed, so far so good. I love my professors and the classes I've had so far. Carlow seems to prepare you for the future. Very satisfied.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Everyone at Carlow seems very nice and helpful.
