Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The facilities at Cal are becoming better with every passing year. New buildings have laptop outlets and include SMART classrooms with efficient technology. The buildings and restrooms are always clean. One of the most utilized facilities on campus is the gym at Herron. Here, students can take classes like boot camp, yoga, or the ever-popular Zumba. Students can also use the rock wall and indoor track, or the basketball courts.

The student center amenities are a little bit outdated, but ultimately still good. Students are often in the Natali Student Center hanging out, watching movies at the Vulcan Theatre, or playing pool on the second floor. Vulcan Village, which is not located directly on campus, is where a majority of students lives, and they spend much of their time there. Because of this, the campus is pretty desolate on the weekends. Most of the fun happens off campus.

  • Reading Day/Mission Day: The school gives everyone the Friday off before midterms and finals for a chance to get some extra studying in. However, everyone uses it as an excuse to stay up later and get a little drunker than on an average Thursday night.
