3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Los Olivos does let you eat as much food as you want, but it's very generic. The BSC does have more variety. One of my favorite places to eat is Qdoba, which is very similar to Chipotle. There is a Starbucks on campus.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: It's what you would expect on a college campus. The food is great, but there eventually comes a point in where you'll find yourself eating outside of campus once you've gotten bored of the different restaurants on campus. That only occurs after a couple of years though.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: They have a buffet here which is pretty cheap and has different options. After living here for a couple months it gets kind of bland though

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: I do not eat to often on campus because I bring my own food or if not I go home to eat, but the school has a variety of restaurants. Just about all are fast food chain restaurants, but they are very convenient. There are also healthy places to eat at such as Subway and there's a fresh market store.

4 College Student

Campus Dining: As a vegetarian, I think the food is pretty food here. The commons changes its food every meal every day, though many things stay the same and those that change go on repeat after about a week. The campus has a lot of restaurants for variety, but all of them close on weekends except for Denny's, which is usually open until 10 or 1. For those who live on campus, eventually the food gets very limited and repetitive unless you go out and buy your own food off campus.

The food options on campus are really good compared to other schools. There is a wide variety of fast food places, from Carl’s Jr., Panda Express, and Taco Bell in the Marketplace—to Subway, Round Table, and Kikka in the BSC. With time, every student eventually gets sick and tired of the food on campus, but this can be said for every other school.

The food in the Los Olivos Commons is better than most other schools. This is thanks in part to the fact that throughout the year the Commons holds themed food days, such as “Soul Food” or “Mongolian.” It puts a fun spin on food and keeps students from feeling that their meals are always repetitive. The Commons is also a buffet style, with vegetarian options included. There are eight different meal plans to choose from, but be warned: in an effort to avoid wasting those meal points, students sometimes eat just to eat.

If you want to avoid the Freshman 15, don’t pick the meal plan with the highest points possible—you will never use them all! Because U-Hour is from 12 p.m. to
1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday and no one has class, the lines for food at the BSC and the Marketplace are always ridiculously long during this time. Unless you have class right at 1 p.m. and you’re starving, you’re better off waiting for the crowd to die down and head back to class before braving the lines to get something to eat.
