Nightlife: Downtown Los Angeles is about an hour away depending on which campus you are at.

3 College Student

Nightlife: There is stuff to do if you are into that stuff.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: I like calu because I can focus on my school and sports with out too much party distraction. You can always drink with your friends at the dorm and go out on the weekends usually. Houses can be selective and clicky. Most houses are owned by sports teams. Party scene is same group of people every time but its okay if those are your friends. Freshman not wanted in parties for the most part.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: I find myself too busy with homework and sports practice so I'm not too involved with the party scene on or off campus

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: The nightlife is base on the friendships you have.

When the weekends roll around, which begin on Thursday, CLU students go off campus to house parties or head out to Hollywood’s countless clubs. Most house parties have a theme, like ABC ("Anything But Clothes") or “Animal House”-style toga parties. House parties are very common and are more alive than the town of Thousand Oaks itself, since practically everything closes at 8 or 9 p.m. But there’s hope: Nearby clubs and bars, like Janss Marketplace’s Sunset Terrace or Thousand Oaks’ Draughts, are hot spots among CLU students looking for a local night out and not up for the hour drive to Los Angeles. But for those excited to hit the 101 freeway to Hollywood or even those willing to pay cab fare, the city of stars and fame awaits, with active clubs and lively streets. Though Los Angeles provides more entertainment than Thousand Oaks, be prepared to spend money.

For those who prefer simple and relaxing nights on or nearby campus (instead of the loud house music bumping in clubs), CLU holds Club Lu every Friday night. Club Lu includes events ranging anywhere from movies in Kingsmen Park to a comedy night by improv troop Upright Citizens Brigade.
