Computers: Some programs have very old and slow computers. Wireless internet is not available to students with older laptops due to multiple firewalls. IT tells students that to fix this problem, the student needs to "buy a new laptop."

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Cafe has good Tamales and Indian Food, but high prices. High prices for sodas. Soda machines should be cheap for students.

2 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There are a few genuinely involved faculty and staff. For the most part, this school lets students who need financial or housing services get marginalized until they just...drop out for lack of help.

2 College Freshman

Weather: Weather can completely change from 1 mile in San Francisco to another. Foggy in one district; 1 mile later clear and sunny; 1 mile later raining; 1 mile later windy...best you can do is wear layers and always carry a small fold-up umbrella.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: There are many public transportation options. Public transportation is dirty, often late, often crowded, and takes 4 times longer than if you were able to drive your car to school instead. You can't drive your car to school instead because there is no parking.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are many restaurants and fast food places a few blocks from campus. Most are too expensive for students on a tight budget.

3 College Freshman

Academics: Classes are good, but expensive. Doctoral programs do not seem to be more valuable in information than master's or bachelor's classes, but cost a lot more. There is little class availability or flexibility. You are "given" your schedule, much as in junior high or high school.

2 College Freshman

Academics: Little flexibility in classes or instructors. Very difficult to find a job to fit around the school schedule. Even work study jobs demand 8 hour shifts that do not mesh well with class schedules. School schedule presumes your entire life is as a student.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Very little alcohol or drug use. This school has many psychology programs and high awareness of problems with addiction. There is a high number of students in recovery.

1 College Freshman

Parking: No student parking is provided. Limited faculty and guest parking provided, but it is never full. You just see those empty spots every day and fume that you had to pay for parking or take the bus for an hour.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Some policies are not spelled out and seem to be made up on the spur of the moment.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: It's San Francisco - all the freaks live her, me included.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: The school offers free Yoga and Tai Chi classes on a regular basis, but those are the only type of "club" sports on campus.
