Drug Safety: Students here are very serious and Campus Safety, Wellness seminars are here to inform us about drugs and alcohol.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: This is a girl's college, the only guys on campus are students from Haverford or Swarthmore. The students are generally dressed for comfort but there are a few artsy students who like to dress fashionably.

Diversity: There are woman from all over the globe, from all different backgrounds.

Off-Campus Housing: Lame. The town in expensive, it is worth it to just live on campus. You get a better sense of community on campus.

Health & Safety: Overall there was a secure network for the students.

Local Atmosphere: Not much is happening in town. You have to go in Philadelphia for a social outreach.

Campus Strictness: Bryn Mawr is a wet campus so alcohol is prevalent and free flowing. However, a friend got into trouble with campus security recently for underage drinking after explicit reassurance that write ups like that were infrequent.

Facilities: Awesome facilities! I pretty much live in Hogwarts

Computers: I have always been able to find a computer when I have needed one. They can be crowded around lunchtime, and definitely when midterms and finals come around. The WiFi signal seems to be strong all around campus, so you can easily use your laptop anywhere. The library is right in the middle of campus and close enough to all dorms that you don't need to have your own printer.

Parking: The permit is $100, but you can't always find a spot around campus. Unless you are planning to drive off campus, you don't need a car; the campus is small enough that you can walk comfortably from one end of campus to the other.

Campus Housing: The dorms are absolutely gorgeous. I have plenty of space here, and each room has a closet. The facilities are often in great condition. They are clean, and many dorms have been renovated recently. People in all years choose to live in the dorms, because they are so nice. It is expensive, but I have seen no other college with dorms like these.

The social atmosphere in the dorms is okay. It depends on which dorm you choose. In some, people tend to keep to themselves. In others, people will sit out in the hallway to chat.

Health & Safety: Bryn Mawr is crazy safe. Everything is lit up. Pub Safe is always around. If you call Pub Safe or the Lantern van, they will come get you, even from the train station if you come in at night and feel unsafe making the 10 minute walk back to campus.

Off-Campus Dining: The food is mostly good and most places deliver right to the dorm. It is suburbia though and you don't have the widest range of options and very few are typical awesome cheap college food. There's also only one or 2 late night options, but those also happen to be the cheap college food options, so that's nice.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Strictness: They are awesome and not strict at all. we have what is known as Pub Safe. They are not at all affiliated with the police and as such are less concerned about what the rules say and much more concerned with the best way to keep us safe.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Workload (first year) is not as daunting as it's made out to be, though still challenging. Professors are friendly and open to out of class discussions about assignment feedback

Like any highly-rated liberal arts college, Bryn Mawr provides a stellar education to a vibrant student body on a campus so beautiful that sometimes it looks surreal. During the school year, especially in the dead of winter, it is easy to overlook these tremendous offerings and instead focus on the massive amount of work, as it contrasts to what can seem like a dearth of social opportunities. These are the times where some freshmen consider transferring.

Traditions help lighten the mood on campus, and despite what seems to be stress oozing out of every pore, most students manage to do a lot more than just handle their school work-though everyone agrees that academics is a priority. In the end, students are most proud of their academic work, but also fond of the school and experiences that they had here. Mawrters come to Bryn Mawr to benefit from the faculty and coursework the school is known for. Some women find the lack of boys on campus difficult to adjust to, or they find the general smallness of the campus undesirable, but in the end, most stay for the same reason they came: academics. When it's over, few look back on the decision with regret.
