4 College Sophomore

Weather: We get all four seasons here.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Competitive school with lots of resources.

5 College Student

Majors: Great selection of majors, lots of help not only graduating but graduating with a job or internship with a fantastic corporation.

4 College Student

Majors: Difficulties were just being an freshman with little on my resume to qualify myself for admission.

The important criteria were relating to diversity and display of a good work ethic.

all my tips would involve joining different clubs and learning diff languages to make you diverse and unique on paper.

2 College Student

Nightlife: You have got to really look for good nightlife parties, no restaurants except for ihop are open.

4 College Student

Local Atmosphere: good place to live, cheap and good for college life, terrible drivers, everyone drives like they're gonna die if they don't put a dent in the next car.

4 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: I've found a few fantastic restaurants, Guru's is my favorite, and a couple bad Chinese ones but there's always a good option in fifteen minutes drive.

4 College Student

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing I hear is better, I've never lived in the dorms but you can't beat being close to campus and close to the store.

4 College Student

Campus Strictness: Lots of focus on the honor code, which is a great environment. Terrible parking, almost always get a ticket if you park in the wrong spot.

4 College Student

Weather: Sunny when I'm in class and sunset when I get off work, good weather not to cold and never to snowed in.

4 College Student

Diversity: Lots of cultural diversity, people from other nationalities etc. For values and political orientations the mix is a little homogeneous.

3 College Student

Athletics: It's popular for many students, but for the group I hang out with we only hear about the sports happening we never go to see the games

4 College Student

Scholarships: It's important to talk and ask questions so people that have done it before can let you know about good tips, seeing as they've gone through the same process. Make sure to talk to the counselors on campus because they know all the "ins and outs" of applications etc..

4 College Senior

Majors: I love my major. I have learned a lot from many different professors.

5 College Senior

Majors: I have loved my internship. School very much encourages them and helps with contact information.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: There are some good opportunities.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Its pretty good. Especially affordable.

College Student

Nightlife: i dont go to those.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Everything in Provo closes extremely early, so shopping isn't always a good option. There's not much to do specifically in Provo, but there are lots of things relatively close by.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Sometimes there are TONS of things happening, and sometimes nothing is happening. BYU sponsored activities are usually fun.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: I don't often use public transportation myself, but I don't hear complaints from others.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: There is always financial aid if you're looking for it.

4 College Freshman

Weather: As with anywhere, you have to get used to the weather. I love it here.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There will always be people who break the rules, but it is not very prevalent or obvious at BYU.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I generally feel very safe on campus. I follow the rules. Campus police are great about everything (except parking).

A BYU experience is unlike anything else. The things that you will learn go far beyond what is taught in the classrooms, and the people that you will meet are exceptional. Researching the school, and being familiar with the rules and expectations of students, will make the transition smoother and help you get the most out of your BYU experience.

Talking with people who have attended, reading books such as this one, and looking at the BYU Web site (www.byu.edu) are all great ways to make sure that this is really the school for you. If you decide that BYU is what you want, then jump in and enjoy it! You are in for a great and character-building experience.
