Campus Dining: Unhealthy Eating – I eat really healthy but there are not many options to even get a salad. I just bring my own food to school because all of the vending machines are full of junk and the cafeteria is just your regular taco bell and subway.

Facilities: Updating Everything – BYU is an old school, but they are working on updating everything and that shows their interest in us as students. They spend a lot of time trying to make the grounds and the buildings look clean and ordered.

Academics: The School Is There to Help! I am in the Marriott School of Business and teachers and faculty are always expressing the need to network and join clubs that will help us meet new business. The idea isn't that they just network for us (although they bring in some wonderful fortune 500 companies for us to meet) they want us to learn that skill and to make a name for ourselves. They do this through lots of programs, clubs, mentor programs, and counseling.

Overall Experience: Animated at the Y – For an animation student with certain standards BYU is a great place to be! My own personal experience with the faculty and other students has been incredible and uplifting. You never have to worry about being asked to do things you don't feel comfortable with, and everyone is just friendly and helpful in general!

Academics: At the Y – The academics at BYU are great, if demanding. Each professor holds his or her students to high academic standards, but they're also more than willing to help and work with students to increase their understanding of course materials. It's a great place to learn and a great place to be.

Drug Safety: Alcohol & Drug Free School – We are known as a "Sober School" we have an honor code that is expected to be followed by ALL students. This honor code includes being drug and alcohol free. This is well monitored by policy advisers and local leaders, issuing routine "check-up" interviews.

Nightlife: Good, Clean Fun – Brigham Young University is located in Provo, UT. Our university is sober, there are not any real bar/club scenes for the students. Our students are expected to follow the rules and guidelines of our honor code, including living a sober, drug-free life. There are many respectable expectations for the students, providing a safer, more wholesome social environment for everyone. There are always parties and activities sponsored by the university, keeping things interesting. There are local "date spots" including Comedy Sports, Fat Cats Bowling, many frozen yogurt locations, etc. We do have a state-wide bus transportation system that is highly utilized (UTA).

Academics: Elementary Education – I absolutely love my major. You can tell the programs has been well thought out and developed to the students' greatest advantage. I work with and intimate group of about 23 fellow students. We are in all of the same classes at this point in the major; this is a great aid in working together to succeed. The workload is manageable and appropriate for preparing us for our future career. We have all the facilities and resources we need to successfully complete our work. My major at my school provides great opportunities to network yourself for future internships and jobs that become readily available to us within the appropriate time frame.

Parking: No Car Needed – Parking is a hassle! If you don't get to school early, you;ll need a lucky day to get a spot. They're pretty strict on parking in the teacher zones and what not, but everywhere else is fine. It doesn't cost any money to get a parking pass. But driving to school is a hassle. Luckily most housing and all of the buildings are within walking distance. Everything is generally close. It probably takes 10-15 minutes at the most to walk from one end of campus to the next. I don't have a car and I get around just fine.

Academics: Professors Care About the Students – The teachers are generally nice. I haven't had a teacher that I have dislike thus far, but I have heard of some pretty tough and unforgiving teachers. Most of the teachers I've met care more about the student's success in the class and in life than in having the reputation for an extremely hard class. However most of the teachers I have had are wonderful. Their goal is to teach you so that you can learn.

Guys & Girls: Great Friendly Environment – Most students at BYU are very respectful and friendly. You get a great mix of different kinds of people, but the tone set by the school is usually upheld.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: Good Bang for Your Buck – 75 % of tuition is covered by tithing funds, making tuition very inexpensive for a private university of this caliber. Scholarships are also offered for tuition and, if grades are kept up,are easy to receive.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: There are always lots of activities going on around and on campus. Students have an active social life, but studying plays an important role as well.

4 College Senior

Academics: Professors Provide Wide Variety of Internships – I'm an Art History major and I greatly enjoy this program. Professors have a wide variety of knowledge, as well as travel experience. The study abroad programs offered are exceptional, as are helpful career seminars.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Lots of housing available, there is a rule that single students have to live within 2 miles of campus, makes it easy to get to and from school!

5 College Junior

Academics: Everything is just the way it should be. Campus is beautiful, people are nice, every activity is available within 10 minutes.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: The campus is pretty small so you don't really need any type of transportation to get around campus at all. Provo is small and you can walk to do all the essential things like buy groceries and do laundry, however if you want to go to a party off campus or travel anywhere nearby there aren't a lot of options. there is a bus system but it has few routes and there are no taxis to be found anywhere.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: The honor code at BYU is very strict and 99% of the students are mormon. For these reasons drug use and visibility is virtually zero. There are very few problems with drugs.

5 College Freshman

Academics: The business school is one of the best in the nation. It is very competitive and has great placement. BYU is known for its tough classes and workloads but it also provides a great atmosphere.

4 College Senior

Weather: As a native of Utah, I'm used to the ever-changing weather. Some students from outside of Utah, however, have a hard time adjusting. It gets pretty cold in the winter and there is a fair amount of snow, while summer is pretty hot. Sometimes it rains, snows and the sun shines all in one day.

Academics: Demanding the Best – My choice to come to BYU was easy because it was fairly close to my hometown and I love the environment there. My academic experience at BYU however, has not been as easy. In seeking to prepare me for my career, professors have demanded my best work.

5 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Brigham Young University is extremely strict in their policies and rules ; which is an aspect that most students appreciate and love. They reinforce rules concerning underage drinking and laws dealing with curfew. BYU is also very strict in their housing guidelines.

5 College Junior

Facilities: Libraries Are Outstanding – Brigham Young's library is a magnificent tool for success! With five floors and countless rooms, students are able to thrive in their school work. Filled with computer labs and white board rooms, they are able to finish their work at a faster pace. Students are also able to reserve rooms for study for themselves or groups just online!

4 College Junior

Academics: Many Great Internship Opportunities Available. I am an Exercise Science major in the College of Life Sciences. It has been great to be in this major, as it completes a vast amount of the prerequisite courses one needs for post graduate schools in Health Care. The College of Life Sciences at Brigham Young offers many opportunities for continuing education and has different internship opportunities available.

5 College Junior

Facilities: Free from Drugs – My university has the Honor code which says that we are not allowed to drink, to consume drugs and to have sex before marriage. I know that for many people this is not acceptable and sometimes weird. But, for us it is a good rule. It maintains our standards higher than other universities. It makes a peaceful place to live and get to know amazing people.
