Campus Dining: The dinning halls are well kept, and they always have something to create an uplifting atmosphere, the food is quite good as well.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: The food could be better. It overall is pretty bland.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: I like the options that the campus provides.

Campus Dining: The Cross Roads has a lot of great options for food. There's italian, mexican, and chinese food, a grill for burgers, a sandwich shop, and Chick-Fil-A. They have a great bakery which has a crepe bar, and also serves Krispie Kreme donuts. The school also has several student run food stands throughout the year which are always fantastic. The only downside is the bakery stands and some of the other smaller food stands close at 2 pm, though you can still buy left overs. The Cross Roads itself closes at 7 pm, so there really isn't anything on campus for really late night meals.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Campus dining is fine. There's a few random shops in a few buildings, but pretty much everything is located in the Manwaring Center. The food is all pretty good, and it's all decently priced.

When it comes to eating, the University Food Services has two major pluses: convenience in location and delicious food. For many BYU-Idaho students, there are a handful of places to eat only a walk away, but none are as close or convenient as the University. BYU-Idaho has five main locations for dining. Most are simply convenient spots for a quick meal or a snack to tie you over between classes, studying, and getting back home. Others, like the new cafeteria the Crossroads, serve students during major meal times.

Since moving and remodeling the BYU-I food court, many students have complained about meal prices. Just to give you a better idea of the University Food Services costs, the University has calculated the average amount of money spent per meal to be $5.50 to $6.50. So, while the University may charge one to two dollars for a single beverage, it is true that you could buy the same drink for a couple cents less at the grocery store. But it’s not the most expensive food option, and it may still be worth it. Look at it this way: you’re paying for convenience and time. Overall, the Crossroads is a great place to meet up with friends and grab a bite to eat from a variety of food options. Also, the school offers Dining Dollars as a way to pay for campus food. By purchasing Dining Dollars in advance, you could get a certain percentage of the cost of food items cut from their price tags.

Did You Know?
In 2007, University Food Services decided to change their policy of open hours and close all food venues on Sunday. This is to keep the integrity of the Church's stance on participating in work on Sundays. As a result of this change, BYU-Idaho has increased the locations and ease in acquiring food. Students are encouraged to purchase the food they need for Sunday on Saturday.
