Campus Dining: There is some variety, they can be quite expensive compared to places around town.

4 College Student

Campus Dining: Dining halls are clean, and food options are great!

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: The dining options are just "okay". The dining hall closes rather early in my opinion; I think it closes around 5 or 6 every day, which is inconvenient for those people that have classes that get out around that time! Also not all of the area are open until 5 or 6, it is just a select few. The food is pretty good, but it is really expensive.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: I love the food on campus. The main cafeteria has so many different options and they are all fantastic. The prices aren't too bad either. The cafeteria is also a great place to hang out and meet new people.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: I do not eat on campus often, however when I do I am rarely disappointed. Often times I use the food on campus as a boost before an exam or sometimes a reward for doing well on a test. The main cafeteria has many options and there are constantly other options coming and going as well.

When it comes to eating, the University Food Services has two major pluses: convenience in location and delicious food. For many BYU-Idaho students, there are a handful of places to eat only a walk away, but none are as close or convenient as the University. BYU-Idaho has five main locations for dining. Most are simply convenient spots for a quick meal or a snack to tie you over between classes, studying, and getting back home. Others, like the new cafeteria the Crossroads, serve students during major meal times.

Since moving and remodeling the BYU-I food court, many students have complained about meal prices. Just to give you a better idea of the University Food Services costs, the University has calculated the average amount of money spent per meal to be $5.50 to $6.50. So, while the University may charge one to two dollars for a single beverage, it is true that you could buy the same drink for a couple cents less at the grocery store. But it’s not the most expensive food option, and it may still be worth it. Look at it this way: you’re paying for convenience and time. Overall, the Crossroads is a great place to meet up with friends and grab a bite to eat from a variety of food options. Also, the school offers Dining Dollars as a way to pay for campus food. By purchasing Dining Dollars in advance, you could get a certain percentage of the cost of food items cut from their price tags.

Did You Know?
In 2007, University Food Services decided to change their policy of open hours and close all food venues on Sunday. This is to keep the integrity of the Church's stance on participating in work on Sundays. As a result of this change, BYU-Idaho has increased the locations and ease in acquiring food. Students are encouraged to purchase the food they need for Sunday on Saturday.
