2 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: There is not anything to do in gainesville other than work

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Outside of the constant activities and events happening on campus, there are numerous events happening at the square, which is walking distance from campus. There are farmers markets, art galleries, book sales, concerts, poetry readings and so much more! There are several parks within walking distance from campus for outdoor sports. Students often go to the indoor and outdoor malls, movie theaters, and restaurants. There is a locally owned restaurant right on the edge of campus where students and faculty often go for lunch!

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Augusta is a nice city that is growing and expanding.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: I am not too familiar with the town my school is in. I drive 64 miles one way for class and back home in the same evening, so I don't spend too much time in town.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Brenau is located in the heart of Gainesville, a small but growing city. The attractions in Gainesville are limited. Cultural events come every so often. Safety is something that could be better. There is crime, like any city. There are many places to shop and a lot of parks. There are three colleges in Gainesville, the local attitudes towards students is accepted. The community supports the schools and since Gainesville isn't considered a party place, like Athens, there isn't a negative attitude towards possible disruption of a peaceful community. Gainesville may not seem like it but it is a strong community.
