3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Good ideas and brainstorming on policies, but way too much of a mess trying to implement them

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I think it is the perfect amount of strictness. Nothing is too harsh, and nothing is too lenient.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: It's pretty average. If you put thought into stuff and don't make a scene, it's easy to get away with many things, but if you're a complete numbskull, consequences get dealt. Fairly normal.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Strictness is normal, but noise at night stinks.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: They are strict on drinking and drugs mostly but the university does a nice job in handling those things.

Campus police are generally relaxed and friendly. They don't go searching for problems or for people disobeying laws. If students mind their own business, campus police will mind their own, too, for the most part. However, that doesn't mean partiers should take their clothes off and run across the street with a beer in hand. Basically, if someone breaks a law in front of the police, the police aren't afraid to ticket or arrest that person. And don't give them an attitude because they don't respond well to that. While campus police doesn't go looking for trouble, the Illinois State Police's Campus/TAP cops do. They have one function, and that's to find and bust as many parties as they can in a single night. This task force began coming to Bradley several years ago and visits several times a semester. They've handed out thousands of dollars in tickets in one night, so when students hear they're coming, they generally don't drink on campus.

Students generally despise the state police, but Bradley's lack of responsibility when it comes to drinking proves that they have every reason to keep coming. In the past, students have died from pranks and horseplay allegedly associated with drinking. Several athletes have been ticketed, jailed, and suspended from teams because of alcohol-related incidents, too. This campus-wide drinking problem has triggered the administration to take action and crackdown on alcohol, and RAs and police have to be in line. Students also need to watch out for the Parking Department because if a car doesn't have a sticker, the student will get ticketed. The ticket writers walk around campus what seems like 24/7, and they catch almost all of the rule-breakers most of the time.
