College Student

Athletics: I'm not very involved with athletics

College Student

Academics: I wont begin my first semester until fall 2014

College Student

Computers: I haven't used the computers on campus very often

College Student

Scholarships: i haven't yet had a financial aid appointment with the school

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: If you want to eat off campus it's mainly just chain restaurants like Tim Hortons, Panera, McDonalds, etc.

1 College Freshman

Weather: If you come to BG, BE PREPARED TO FREEZE. The winters are miserable and having an 8am class in January will suck any way you look at it. There is no way to get around it, but if you live in Ohio you probably already know that.

College Freshman

Campus Strictness: It is easy to get away with A LOT.

1 College Freshman

Diversity: BGSU is mainly white with very few minority or international students.

2 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: There really isn't a whole lot to do in BG, if you want to go shopping or go to a nice grocery store you're better off going to Perrysburg or Maumee.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: BG has been doing really well in football lately and the women's basketball team is awesome!! MAC champs 2013!!!

Campus Housing: There are definitely the good dorms and bad dorms. I lived in Centennial freshman year and absolutely loved it. The rooms are large and it's really nice having your own bathroom. Founders, Offenhouer, and Falcon Heights are all the nicer dorms on campus. Mac was just remodeled so it's a lot nicer but the rooms are still small and there is no air conditioning.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The Health Center is brand new and amazing. I was able to get an appointment the same day I called and they also take walk-ins. The equipment is high quality and the doctors are very knowledgable and friendly.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Individually, the chapters on campus do really great things for the University. However, collectively there isn't a sense of community and each chapter is just looking to out-do the next.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: There are plenty of bars for people 18+ and there are always house parties going on. Frats always have alcohol available for girls for free and they are normally the most fun.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: It was pretty easy to find incoming freshman scholarships however now going into my sophomore year, it is becoming more difficult.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: Every dorm and almost every building has a computer lab of sorts. Most have at least a few Macs and then the others are PCs. If you're willing to walk to the art building the printers are great, other than that it's mostly just black and white printers at 5 cents a page. I prefer to use my own computer and printer.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I walk everywhere on campus at all hours. I have had to walk to and from the art building at 3 in the morning and feel perfectly safe. Bowling Green is a great, safe place and there is always Campus police, Parking Services, or the blue emergency light posts.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: The wind is TERRIBLE, and it is ALWAYS there.. BUT in the spring and summer the weather is perfect. The sun is shining, the grass is green, and it's not too hot.

Drug Safety: I've seen many people do things like smoke weed, and I had a roommate my freshman year that was drugged at a party. The campus police are always wiling to do something about it if it's reported, but it's also fairly easy to get away with it, from what I've seen

5 College Sophomore

Academics: I am very fortunate to be a part of the Art program at my school, and it is one of the 17 in the country to have a program where you can major in Glass.

Local Atmosphere: The town itself is very cute and charming, and there are plenty of clubs and bars around. Although that does get old and there are no malls and the movie theatre doesn't play all the new movies.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I wasn't able to do it so I make my dad do it for me, he gets annoyed with the process but it gets done so it can't be that bad. I do have multiple friends however that constantly complain about it.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: The houses we live in now are okay but they are being torn down to create new ones so we will be out of greek houses for a couple of years. That means we will just have dorms we have to share with other frats/sororities, but that just creates better greek unity. Being greek is very exciting and highly encouraged on campus. Every chapter has events/socials throughout the year so it's a big part of the campus life.

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There's always something going on every night, but especially on the weekends. There is TONS of bars and clubs and most them are only 18 and up so any college student for the most part can get in. The fraternities have parties and socials every weekend and when the weather is nice usually every day.
