Academic Experience: I have enjoyed many of the Criminal Justice classes I have taken. They are very informative and the teachers know what they are talking about and are very professional. My only complaints are that I wish we would do more hands on things such and fingerprinting and investigating crimes.

Academic Flexibility: I enjoy that it is close to home since I come from a low income family I have to work to pay for my own college along with help from grants and scholarships but I have still had to work very hard. It helps that it is very affordable for college and its a friendly atmosphere.

Academic Flexibility: I chose to attend BGSU Firelans because it was affordable and I can complete my major there. The drive is convienent for me and it's easy to attend classes. I like going to BGSU because the classes are educational and I can work while attending school and after four years not be in debt.

Overall Experience: So Very Close to Home – I live seven miles away and this is very workable.

4 College Senior

Student Body: Working for the Same Goals – The vast majority of the students are dedicated to an education and positive prospects for the future. Many students work and attend classes and are dedicated towards becoming a career orientated citizen.

Academic Experience: Work Load and Time – I am a art history major, and my classes by far have been what I have expected. Unfortunately my Art teacher is also my art history teacher so we cannot talk or ask him questions.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: The Life of a Freshman Student at BGSU Firelands – I wish that my art professor was a more kinder teacher, and that he would not be so mean and passive aggressive against us. All the teachers I have had so far have been very kind and always wanting to help you. the lectures my other teacher give are so interesting. Unfortunately my art teacher dose not share there views on how to treat students.

Campus Resources: Yes, the whole campus has wi-fi. It comes with certain restrictions, obviously. No complaints. Still upset about the Food prices being so high, and paying for paper I already paid for, but nothing more.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Not Much – I'm not a big 'GYM' person, but I did work in the theater department, they seem shorted funding. I also think we should have more supplies for the more expensive fields, computer, equipment, PAPER. Students in certain programs ALREADY pay fees to use certain materials but are charged throughout the semester per material, that doesn't seem right.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: GPA ? I have been awarded many honors and awards, society inductions, and have maintained a very high class rank and status, but NO financial aid. I have a 4.0 in my major and 3.95 overall, and not a single scholarship makes it past the EFC to see that I'm deserving. The system is broken, they should award student with achievements, because many of us completely disagree with the ASSUMED amount of EFC. or "Need".

Campus Resources: Administration Power-Plays – It is well known that there are certain people of authority that can not be argued with, even when they are wrong. I am denied access to computer labs and certain rooms that I NEED to be in to complete class work, but the 'People' in charge dont trust any of their students and they treat us all like thieves and liars if we need into the computer lab to do homework. One lead figure of authority came into one of my classes and raged at the students for being in the class because the teacher was late. Supposedly, we are so irresponsible, we should wait in the hallway wasting time if our teacher is running late instead of going into the classroom to work.
My overall point, if the college wants to keep expanding and getting new equipment etc, they should probably start trusting their students until the INDIVIDUALS cause reason to not trust. We pay to be in the rooms and to have access to those supplies, we pay extra fees and all.

Academic Flexibility: Location Location – BGSU is right in my home town and it takes me less than twenty minutes to get there. All the classes thus far that I have picked has all worked with my work schedules as I work several part time jobs.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Happy Where I Am. Bowling Green has helped me grow into a well rounded person. I have become very confident in myself and look forward to graduation day. I will miss walking the halls afterwards but I will go back and visit for sure.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: It may be possible to make it through school without a personal computer, but I would never try it. To be fair, there is almost always an availble computer somewhere on campus, but professors constantly assign online homework and papers.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: For the Birds – There's truly a place for everyone on this campus. The back of the library and the outside trails are great places to enjoy the silence of your own mind, while the student center and the pit are more appropiate if you want to be surrounded by people.

3 College Junior

Career Services: Career counseling is something that students must personally seek out on campus. Once the meeting is set the employees will help you any way they can, from spending hours discussing the pros and cons of medical school to suggesting part time jobs to get you through the semester.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: library, student center, tutoring center, computer labs, gym, book store, are all available

College Junior

Academic Experience: I have not yet started my degree program so am unable to answer thsi question

Online Courses: Not Too Bad – I didn't like it at first, but my online instructor is helpful. I also found students from Firelands who are taking or had taken the course, and they helped me too. Was a bit confusing at first, but became easier as time went on. Not too keen on make up quizzes or exams though, so don't miss deadlines.

Academic Experience: Great Place to Start College – My experience at BGSU Firelands has been a great one. The class sizes are small, the student body is mostly working adults, and the computer lab is awesome. I have had mostly friendly instructors who have helped me succeed in their classes, which have flexible times. The learning center has knowledgeable tutors available. Financial aid process was a breeze for me, and the ladies in the office will return your phone calls quickly! There are a ton of different classes to take to fulfill your core curriculum as well, from theater to volleyball to lifespan development psychology. The only bad thing is some of the instuctors have been a bit hard to follow, I get the feeling they have other jobs and this one is not their top priority at times because of their scattered assignments. Also, only a few advisors know what they are talking about, so I have been scheduling my own classes for 2 years now. At least the website is easy to navigate.

5 College Freshman

Student Body: Though we are in a small community, i feel we have a diverse student body. We have young and old and mostly poor to middle class students. A lot of the students are adults returning to school that have lost manufacturing jobs in the area.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: Computers and Printing – our computer lab is good sized with multiple printers as well. Only negative thing they started this year having you pay to print. This can get quite expensive. although, i understand they are just trying to get students to become more eco-friendly and not waste paper. Our wireless access and network reliability i have no complaints on!

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: Staff Is Very Helpful – I've only just started, but i have been extremely impressed with all faculty i have come in contact with. They are very knowledgeable and always willing to help. Many of them are quite humourous as well, that always make tough school work a bit easier.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: It is quite cheap to attend especially for a place with University Status.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Very Good – I really enjoy it here. It is a commuter campus so it's nothing extravagant but it is very good.
