The facilities at Bowie State University are in the "upgrading" process, including a new performing arts building. Classrooms have SMART Board technology in addition to some that still have chalkboards.

The facilities are not horrible, nor unbearable. The students are free to voice their opinions and express themselves about the facilities; when they do, the administration listens, and changes take place to benefit the students. Overall, the facilities add to the HBCU experience as well as the BSU experience.
