Campus Strictness: Campus policies are very strict, but only if you get caught. Regardless though, one should abide by the policies.

Campus Strictness: Just like many other colleges. Average

Campus Strictness: There are times when the campus is more strict than others - for instance on days like Marathon Monday there are a lot of cops out, but at the same time they know that everyone is drinking. As long as you don't act belligerent or look like you are falling over and in danger of dying, you usually won't get in trouble. Just hold yourself together and you should be fine. Some RAs are more strict than others, and they are probably also more strict on Upper Campus during freshman year, mostly just to ensure that everyone is safe.

Campus Strictness: The campus isn't very strict at all. Some RA's suck but most people are chill and let you do what you want. Very few classes take attendance or anything.

Campus Strictness: BCPD are really great with helping you to feel safe and secure on campus. They have a presence on campus that helps students feel safe walking back to dorms alone at night as well as during times of high stress such as last years Boston Marathon.

The BCPD is definitely strict about underage drinking and drug use, so you’ll have to learn the ropes if you ever want to participate in the social scene. However, “work hard, play hard” is an unofficial BC motto, so serious fun certainly can and does occur. The first few months of every semester are always deemed “lock down,” when the PD goes overboard in the strictness department. Usually it tapers off after a couple of weeks, so sit tight and drink quietly in your room. Keep the Beirut tournaments at a less-than-audible level, watch out for RAs, and try not to make any foolish mistakes.

The campus usually maintains a level of strictness not unlike that of a federal penitentiary. (Well, not quite that strict, but you get the picture.) Truthfully, the school recognizes how hard Boston College students work in their academic life and how much the students like to reward themselves for their efforts in their personal lives. BCPD cracks down on drinking as much as they can, but historically, young people will always find a way to “play hard.” You won’t find many BC students running through campus drunk and naked at any hour of the day, but a good party can always be found at some locale during the week. Students who are willing to search for personal enjoyment usually find a just compensation.
