3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: There is little selection, the meal plan is too extravagant, and food is too expensive. But the quality is decent.

4 College Junior

Campus Dining: In general the campus dining is very good. There are not many places for dining, so Lower Campus is very crowded a lot of the time, and unless you want to wait in long lines, it is good to go at a time when it is less busy. The food is good although it can become very repetitive. Addie's, above Lower Dining Hall, is one of many students' favorite dining locations on campus.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Dining: My friends and I have often discussed returning to BC for the weekend just to do an "eating tour." Enough said.

5 College Freshman

Campus Dining: There are a ton of options and the quality is very high. Not all of the dining locations are on meal plan.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Better than most, the way the meal plan works is really convenient, compared to the "meal swipe" and buffet style most schools have. Some dining halls are better than others, but they are all about the same. Good, mostly healthy food for being prepared cheaply and in bulk.

You can find just about any type of food on campus at Boston College. From sushi to gourmet sandwiches, from international cuisine to American finger foods, BC has it all. Freshmen generally eat in Stuart or McElroy because it is closer to their dorms, while uppserclassmen dine at Lower. These three locations all serve the same type of foods, and try to switch up their menus as often as possible to keep things less monotonous.

Hillside Café is an especially popular place to grab a meal, serving gourmet toasted sandwiches, homemade potato chips (lovingly call “Frips”), and a variety of tasty dipping sauces. Lyons Hall, or The Rat, is located on Middle Campus and serves fast food—students stop here between classes for a quick hot dog or sandwich. Feeling especially classy? Try the fresh sushi or gourmet cheese platters. Eagle’s Nest is a student favorite, serving freshly tossed salads, soups in bread bowls, and ready-made wraps. If you have a sweet tooth, the Chocolate Bar is the place for you—it serves chocolate desserts, flavored coffees, and ice cream. Your meal plan covers all of these locations, and any student can eat at any dining hall on campus. Additionally, there are many nearby restaurants that will also accept your meal plan as a form of payment—some will even deliver right to your door!
