Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing is frequently advertised across campus. Most students decide to live off campus during their junior year. Due to the school's ideal location in the suburbs of Boston, housing is no very cheap, but it reasonable especially if you have a group of people to split rent with.

Facilities: Boston College has an amazing closed in campus with all the building recently refurbished. While Boston College is technically not in the city of Boston but rather Chestnut Hill, there is not much roar and chaos up near the school, however due to the city's amazing transportation system, it is quite easy to take a simple and cheap T ride into the city. One of Boston College's greatest assets is its proximity to the city of Boston, not only for the social scene but also for future internships and job opportunities. Due to the proximity to Boston, I have already attended four concerts in just my first semester of school, so there are plenty of cool events happening right near by. The Carroll School of Management is currently ranked number six for undergraduate business and the program is really good, as students are immediately immersed into the field of business even in the first semester of freshman year.

Facilities: Our gym (aka "The Plex") really stinks to put it quite simply. It is tiny and depressing and basically everyone envies Boston University's amazing fitness center. The libraries are awesome, especially Bapst library which basically looks like Hogwarts. The other main library, O'Neill library, is also really nice, especially during finals as both these libraries are open 24-7 and give the students free cookies and coffee. While the months that students usually reside at Boston College are covered in snow and usually quite cold, the fall and spring is quite lovely on campus as there are many green areas and the school does a beautiful job of landscaping the campus. Boston College is full of traditions such as the student fair day down Linden Lane and convocation. In addition, Boston College students are very supportive of the football, hockey, and basketball team. These events often have quite lively and inappropriate chants that really show the school's spirit. White Mountain ice cream right off of lower campus is a frequent meeting place for many students and groups.

Majors: I have an internship on campus, but it is not paid. The time commitment is about four hours a week.

Majors: I'm only a sophomore, but so far I'm happy with my program.

Diversity: People often say BC does not have much diversity, which is fairly true, but most students are very accepting of other backgrounds despite this.

Computers: The computers are fine, and there is wifi in most places on campus.

Weather: The weather is very all over the place throughout the year, but that's typical New England weather.

Overall Experience: I really like BC. It has it's downsides, but overall it is a very good school with many interesting, kind people and lots of opportunities.

Off-Campus Dining: There are many places to eat in Cleveland Circle, and if there's nothing that you want there, Boston is close.

Scholarships: I did not apply for financial aid, but I've heard mixed things from friends.

Facilities: The plex is the athletic center on campus, and it's always crowded because most people are into working out to some extent. The scenery on campus is beautiful; the buildings are impressive and the grounds are well kept.

Facilities: There are many clubs at school, and it is easiest to make friends through them. People also tend to make friends in their dorms and at parties, and sometimes through classes.

Transportation: Cars would be convenient if you want to go somewhere not in Boston, but most people don't and can't have them. But you can find basically everything you need by campus or in Boston.

Off-Campus Housing: If you look for a house/apartment early, there are places that are quite nice.

Campus Strictness: The campus is fairly strict, but not extremely strict.

Campus Dining: I really like the food on campus for the most part, but this year it's starting to get a bit repetitive. The food is good, they just don't change it up very much.

Nightlife: There are a bunch of parties going on during the weekends, both on and off campus.

Local Atmosphere: BC is only 20 minutes outside of Boston, which is a great city for college students. There are lots of young adults living in Boston, and the city has lots of great restaurants, shops, and things to do.

Drug Safety: There aren't very many drugs on campus, but there is definitely a lot of alcohol use. The party scene is everywhere.

Off-Campus Housing: I am a freshman, so I'm not yet sure how the off campus hosing will look like since all students get 3 or 4 years of housing on campus.

Guys & Girls: Guys are an interesting bunch. Most are the same typical, New England, preppy guy, but there are some guys on campus who bring something a little different to the table.

Health & Safety: I have not yet felt unsafe on campus. Campus police could be found patrolling around when dark and the blue emergency lights can be found every couple steps. Although walking alone at night is a scary thing, not once did I feel as though I couldn't make it safely back to my dorm from where I was.

Campus Strictness: It is strict because they want to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

The general feeling seems to be that Boston College is a wonderful school and an incredible experience. However, the first few years can be tough, as you may not be prepared for the enormity of the college experience. If you’re from a very diverse high school, you will certainly be shocked at the very different atmosphere that will surround you at BC. Furthermore, so many of your peers can appear like they’re having the time of their lives, and you might feel like you’re faking it, especially at first. Yet, staying the course is absolutely worth it, as Boston College is a wonderful institution with many dynamic people who will truly challenge and amaze you. If you give the school a little time to grow on you, it certainly will and you’ll be really glad you gave it
a chance.

Also keep in mind that while parties and tailgates are enjoyable, they are not the only things college life is about. Yes, you want to have fun, and you will once you get to know people a little better, but there are other reasons you came here. Remember that you are going to college to receive an exceptional college education, and Boston College will certainly deliver that and then some. Friendships flourish, enriching academics abound, and you’ll walk away a changed person.
