Local Atmosphere: Downtown Greenville is absolutely beautiful, with many great restaurants and shopping. The mall in town is also very nice. In regard to parks, the park downtown is the perfect place to hang out with friends or do homework; it even has a gorgeous waterfall.

Local Atmosphere: The atmosphere in Greenville varies from the very beautiful and refreshing, to some of the lower end districts. The downtown area is beautiful, with plenty of restaurants, shopping areas, museums, and Falls Park. Greenville also has an excellent library downtown with lots of branches throughout the city. Greenville has a lot of art galleries, including local artists and BJU's M&G. If you like hiking, you can go to Parris Mountain for the weekend.

Local Atmosphere: Downtown Greenville is amazing. I went there many times for walking or just hanging out. There is a cute little park not too far from the school that offers a quiet reprieve for homework. Downtown Greenville is culturally diverse and often has exhibits of every kind. You won't be bored going down there. The attitude of the locals towards students is mostly good. Some of the locals have preconceived ideas about the students, but if they actually got to know us they would see that we are not as bad as they might think.

Welcome to the South, y’all! Downtown Greenville is a small but cozy place. For students, it is a great place to recharge after a day's hard work and escape from the academic stress of campus. Students get to interact with locals while hanging out and further expanding their networks. The downtown offers a variety of restaurants, and after enjoying a meal, there are a lot of great dessert places to check out. Broadway shows come once in a while to Greenville, but art shows are constant. Rather than loud clubs or bars, downtown mainly focuses on cultural events. On the weekends, a lot of street performers, local artists, and crafters come out. There are also a variety of beautiful parks in the area. Students who love art, coffee, and music definitely appreciate what downtown Greenville has to offer.

BJU is Southern enough to give non-Southern students culture shock; however, downtown Greenville is known for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere. BJU students love downtown Greenville’s slowness and enjoy the artsy vibe. After the shock of Southern culture wears off, downtown Greenville keeps students from being homesick, and makes them think of Greenville as their home.
