3 College Junior

Scholarships: You have to know about the scholarships before you can apply for them. The scholarship information is not readily available to the students to apply for them and they are hard to get.

2 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Not a lot of options and eventually get tired of same food from same restaurants. Quality of food has decreased in past few years due to economy and you can tell they have went to a cheaper brand of food to serve.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Very pleased so far. Nominal out-of-pocket expense.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Now that the pool is back in operation, all is well.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: Weather is weather... classes are inside, no problem.

1 College Freshman

Majors: To get accepted into the nursing program you must past the entrance exam. I did not pass it the 1st year which automatically makes me go to school 5 years. They will only allow you to take the entrance exam 1 time each year compared to other schools that accept it 3 times and some schools do not require it at all. They only accept 24 nursing students a year. I am waiting to see if I passed it this year.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I received one scholarship from Bluefield State College. They send you a letter when it is time to renew. No problems Be sure to apply for anything and everything.

5 College Senior

Majors: I'm in the Radiologic Technologist program. There was a test you had to take as an application to the program. On the Bluefield Campus there were only 14 students accepted yearly. The test scores, GPA, and I'm sure others things all are what determines if you get accepted into the program.

5 College Senior

Majors: The are a wide variety of degrees at BSC. Most degrees are hands on, which makes it so much easier to learn.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: Bluefield State offers housing on and off campus. The off campus housing isn't far at all, about 5 minutes. I personally don't stay in campus housing, but the people that I know that do seem to enjoy the atmosphere.

4 College Junior

Majors: I am moving up from an LPN to a RN, and I do not have anxiety about finding a job, but getting through school.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: We are all very disperse, from location to ethnic background.

4 College Junior

Facilities: BSC is continuing to renovate and update their athletic facilities.

4 College Junior

Parking: Plenty of spaces, no traffic jams, parking lot never full.

College Junior

Campus Housing: Don't Have Dorms – The campas doesn't have dorms. You have to commute everyday.

2 College Junior

Facilities: The school isn't very good. I find it hard to get anything done

College Junior

Academics: This is my fist semester at this school. I don't have an opinion yet.

1 College Junior

Overall Experience: I hate BSC. It is a hassle to get anything done. No one answers the phone or e-mails me back. I am so disappointed in this school and I am transfering next semester.

College Junior

Campus Strictness: I am an online student through the school. I do not go on or around campus for any reason.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Decent Program – I'm in the education program. I was offered a full scholarship. The employee of BSC who recruited me knew that I wanted to be a high school teacher, but she never actually mentioned the fact that I wouldn't be able to get that type of certification from the college. The workload isn't bad, but some of the courses seem unnecessary.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greeks Have Their Place – Greek life at BSC are definitely a big part of campus life for a bunch of students. There's always a group trying to emphasize their cause or gain new members.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Decent, but Not Big – Sports at BSC are a decently sized part of campus life. I honestly went to more of the college's games when I was a senior in high school than I have this year, and I'm an actual student!

3 College Freshman

Facilities: Off-Campus Life – The fact that BSC is a completely commuter college is different. It's a "big-time" college with a small town atmosphere.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Great Place – Bluefield State is a great place to attend school. It's kind of in the middle of everything, even if there's not much actually here. It takes the effort of the students and the teachers, who try to work together to make one successful.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I've lived here all my life, so I definitely enjoy being able to run off campus between classes to grab a quick bite. There's a large variety, from fast food to sit-down meals. It's typical of any semi-small town you'd think of.
