3 College Senior

Campus Housing: The campus apartments are very nice to live in. They are in the process of building a new dorm as well which should be nice.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: For a small school the general population of students is very good looking.

College Sophomore

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: There's lots of outdoor stuff to do, and a nice small town atmosphere.

College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I won't start school until the fall.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: the off-campus housing selection at my school, Black Hills State University, is good. Even though I am not yet living off-campus, I can tell from how quickly most of my friends found apartments. These off-campus apartments have a close proximity to almost everything such as the school, downtown and so many other facilities patronized by students. From what I have seen and heard, the process is rather quick and easy and it is cost effective.

Off-Campus Dining: Attending campus in Rapid City

5 College Freshman

Parking: Attending UCRC parking is always available.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I've heard nothing but positive remarks about the education program I am in. Its one of the best in the nation. I'm pretty excited to move forward into it.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Since I am attending UCRC the nightlife is taking classes than going home afterwards. If you know people in Rapid that's who you hang out with.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The students vary at the UCRC. Everyone seems very friendly and easy going though

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I can't really say too much about Sports since I am not on the main campus

3 College Freshman

Academics: I am just starting out and I am not attending the university itself yet. I take classes at an additional campus in Rapid City. The nice thing I learned about my major is that my adviser comes down from the main campus once a week to try to meet with her students who are unable to travel to Spearfish.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Completing the fafsa itself is such a hassle. I am the daughter of a single mother and us trying to figure it out together from different parts of the nation is what makes it so difficult. The help I received from BHSU itself has been nice. The financial aide officer is beyond helpful.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Haven't searched off campus housing.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Great green oriented campus in the beautiful Black Hills landscape.

Campus Housing: Every building has pros and cons. The newer buildings, Thomas and Heidi, are more recently renovated, so they're nicer on the inside but they are further away from campus. The residence halls that are closer to the classroom buildings are a little older, but still manageable. The rooms in the older buildings are bigger as well. Social atmosphere is usually pretty good, RA's put on programs pretty much every month that everyone can attend for free, and each building has a central lobby on each floor that people can hang out in.
