Local Atmosphere: I absolutely love my area because it is in a smaller town in LA but it is close to tons of things to do

Local Atmosphere: Being so close to Disneyland makes something that everyone can go to to have fun. An annual pass isn't the most affordable but there is Downtown Disney which has the typical Disney feel. There are great food and snack places around, lots of restaurants. My floor will go on fun donut runs or "froyo" runs at night. There is an ice skating rink near by. Fullerton Amtrak station is 15 minutes away so it makes it easy to go to other towns near by without the stress of driving all the way there.

Local Atmosphere: La Mirada itself is a very safe place to live. It's a central location, so everything fun to do is twenty minutes in any direction: Angel's Stadium, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, LACMA, the beach, downtown Fullerton, a number of ethnic districts, and Los Angeles.

Local Atmosphere: Our school is located in a nice, quiet and safe residential area. There are several surrounding malls, shopping centers and restaurants within short driving distances. Biola University has a great Christian reputation, so the students are treated with great repect within the community. Since our campus is just south-east of Los Angeles, we are close to DisneyLand, Knottsberry Farm and local beaches. Hollywood, Doger Stadium and Angel Stadium are 30 minutes away in either direction. There's always something to do and great places to visit.

Biola University is located in the midst of La Mirada, smack-dab in the middle of a quiet suburban neighborhood on the outskirts of Los Angeles. The small neighborhood is very well-kept and houses hundreds of warm, accommodating people. Many professors and students live just off campus in the surrounding neighborhood and love to open their houses for small events at the school. Because Biola is located right in the middle of a neighborhood, it's a little difficult to navigate one's way out sometimes, and other than a few house parties, not much goes on outside of the school. Students looking to go out and do things would be encouraged to find someone with a car.

The neighborhoods surrounding Biola make it a relatively safe place; no one ever worries about crime at Biola because of the nice buffer zone surrounding the school. In addition to that, students tend to feel safe hanging out on campus at night and rarely leave the campus, unless going swing dancing, seeing a movie, or grabbing a bite to eat. One of the biggest off-campus features that Biola boasts is Disneyland, as it's only about 15 minutes away. Because of this, most students have year-long passes to Disneyland and make thorough use of them before the year's up. In addition to that, students love to go to the beaches nearby, as they, too, are only about 15 minutes away.
