5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Many of the people I met have great personalities! It's hard to not make friends.

Guys & Girls: The campus is definitely packed with very "hipster" students, and it's known as a "ring by spring" sort of school, but really, I haven't seen too much of that sort of thing. All of the guys that I have met are very kind and gentlemanly, and chivalry is big among the students. All of the girls are very nice and there's really no "clique" junk, like in high school, going on anywhere. It's very easy to make friends and get involved with the community, and anyone who says otherwise just isn't trying.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: the biola ratio makes more girls than guys, but theres always ring by spring !

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There is literally every single type of person at Biola.

Biola's collection of students is very diverse, varying from "hipsters" to "homeschoolers," although most of them are just genuine human beings that aren't afraid to sit down and talk about anything. Many of the guys can be found wearing flannel and growing out their beards, whereas girls dress modestly but are usually very artistic. Simply put, the thrift stores nearby are doing quite well due to the Biolan population. Biola, on the outside, could definitely be stereotypical of a liberal arts school.

Many people are in relationships on campus, and the joke "Bridal Institute of Los Angeles" (a play on "Bible Institute of Los Angeles" or BIOLA) is actually not that much of a joke, as most relationships bloom into marriage, if not during the course of school, at least by the end of the four years. The ratio of three girls to every guy is strong and noticeable, but this doesn't seem to affect the dating arena of Biola. It should also go without saying that Biola is virtually devoid of any sexual promiscuity.

Social Scene
Students are very outgoing. Many people in the suburbs enjoy walking through Biola's campus, just to talk with the students about their classes or just about the weather. Students love to go to the beach, Disneyland, and swing dancing in their free time.
Hookups or Relationships?
There is quite a bit of dating, just as any Christian college would have. Most relationships are serious and can last up to four years before culminating in marriage. It is very rare to see people breaking up or even hooking up for shorter than a few months.
Dress Code
Everyone is pretty modest. In terms of style, most follow the independent movement, but they still keep it classy if need be.
Did You Know?
GYRADs (Get Your Roommate A Date events) are a great way to get to know students of the opposite gender, and are put on by dorms nearly every other month.
