Scholarships: Pretty Good – I received a descent amount of scholarship and applying for more aid as my financial status are not so stable. I just have to keep on calling on the recent status of my application.

Local Atmosphere: Great Atmosphere – We can basically find anything here in Boston. Especially for student, financially it's important to save some money on entertainment, food groceries. And boston does provide some places that sells cheaper stuff if you go around to find it. There are also a lot of gardens and public parks that we can at least have some entertainment without paying a single dollar and it's a safe area as well!

Computers: Labs Are Great – Labs are facilitated with great software for the education purposes and printing is fast as well. Lab assistance are very helpful!

Local Atmosphere: Experience the City of Boston in the Campus Itself – Boston College of Music's campus is located in the city of Boston itself, particularly in the Back Bay area, in the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Boylston Street, which is one of the busiest intersections in the Boston area. During the summer, this intersection is crowded with Berklee Summer Programs students, particular the Five-Week Summer Performance Program, which attracts 1,000 people from around the world annually. In Fall and Spring semesters, Berklee full-time students often spend their time jamming, performing, and socializing in this area.

The nearby Food Row, a row of restaurants and cafés in Boylston Street, is popular for their affordable costs for eating. Many Berklee students are spotted in those restaurants to study, eat, or just to meet with friends.

The nearest subway/T station, Hynes Convention Center, is just right across the street, making Berklee very accessible. Boston University and Northeastern University, as well as New England Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, and Boston Architecture College, are also located nearby.

For those who like to go shopping, Newbury Street is also right across the street from Berklee. Prudential Center and Copley Square Mall are also located within 5 minutes of walking from Berklee.

Facilities: Everyone who comes to Berklee knows that they want to have music as their career field. Berklee knows this very factor and supports the students with advanced-technology media labs for every student to use. Each computer contains all softwares and hardwares necessary for students to do their music technology projects. There are also multiple recording studios that are mainly used by Music Production & Engineering majors, as well as Film Scoring recording studios and Electronic Production & Design laboratories. The library consists mostly of music sheet, which is often described as a heaven for people who like to do composition.

Berklee also has its own performance center called Berklee Performance Center (BPC) which holds 1,215 people and is also known for having one of the best acoustic sounds amongst all college performance halls. In addition, Café 939, the only student-run nightspot in the whole country, also holds some professional performances.

In Fall 2013, Berklee will open its newest building, which will include 2-floor dining hall, new dorm, faculty spaces, recital halls, and new recording studios.

Campus Housing: Too Expensive for So Little; New Dorm in Fall 2013 – The current 3 on-campus housing facilities in Berklee College of Music are pretty much average at their best. Known for their high costs, the dorms are generally shared between 3 people. The one in 150 Massachusetts Avenue is the most modern, including air-conditioning units. The benefits are also because it is located in the same building as the classrooms and the Berklee Performance Center. 270 Commonwealth Avenue has the strongest social bond, thus the best dorm for freshmen. 98 Hemenway is the most isolated from the others. However, it is also known for its strong social bond, despite being the smallest dorm of them all.

In Fall 2013, Berklee College of Music will open its newest dorm in 160 Massachusetts Avenue. This dorm will be the most state-of-the-art, similar to International Village in Northeastern University, but in smaller scale. The new building that holds this dorm will also include 2-floor dining hall, multiple recording studios, a couple of recital halls, as well as new classrooms and faculty spaces.

Majors: Good classes in and outside the department. Materials are written by faculty and coursework is tailored to the student's needs and future application. Very helpful and useful information.

Weather: Thursday Showers – It rains every Thursday. As Boston is close to the ocean, it tends to rain for half the week, and it's sunny for the rest. In the winter, it snows a couple of inches, but the city is pretty good about keeping it off the sidewalks.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Quite Unhealthy and Repetitive – It's better than most schools, but the choices are repetitive and they use too many unhealthy choices. I like the cafeteria overall for its prices, but I really wish they would use less cheese and oil in everything.

Local Atmosphere: Love It – I really enjoy the atmosphere around Berklee. It's right in the middle of downtown, right in the middle of many different attractions - concert halls, Fenway Park, etc. and there's always something to do.

College Freshman

Nightlife: Can't Say, Really – Honestly speaking, I'm not too into the nightlife in Boston. Other than the concerts, I don't go to clubs or bars, for a few reasons: a) I'm not too into it, and b) I'm too young, as an eighteen-year-old.

Diversity: I have never been to Berklee because of my financial status, but from what I have learned through the audition and interview process it has a culturally diversified atmosphere where people make newcomers feel at home. This was my experience when I met some of the students. Everyone was incredibly open and curious about my views and ideas. It is an artistic, rich environment in which I will not be judged but greatly appreciated; an environment where I will not only learn from books but from people. This blind optimism has always been a part of me and helps me unlock who I am. My conclusion, it is best to simply hope.

College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Just Starting – Not sure as to what health and safety Berklee offers just yet.

College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Off Campus – I do not have any knowledge regarding campus housing.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: Public transportation in alright, but based off the location of my home, it's a little inconvenient. Buses and trains, however, do run very close to school; It's just a matter of getting on.

Computers: The Campus Offers a Computer Friendly Work Environment – The computer labs at Berklee College of Music are convenient and easily accessible for all of the students on campus. As long as we respect the regulations and rules that go along with using the labs, students are free to use them during operating hours. Access to the computer labs makes it convenient when having to print documents, use the internet or work on projects. The labs also offer access to recording software and equipment when needed. Wireless internet is also available across the campus. I have never had a single issue with being able to use the internet while in school.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: The T – It's very convenient to get places with the T in Boston but it is getting costly. I'm thinking Berklee is thinking of some other methods of transportation in the future. Berklee shuttle to the Fordham practice rooms?

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Not Much. I thought Berklee would have a problem with drugs but it really doesn't have that big a problem. I'm impressed with the amount of people that don't or or wouldn't use drugs. Same with alcohol.

Athletics: Berklee I believe has a hockey team but sports are pretty non-existatnt just like the work out facilities. I guess most musicians aren't interested in hurting their hands in a sport. It'd be nice to have unofficial pickup soccer games or something. I'd like that!

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Under Age Drinking – They don't care, as long has your 21 or over and no one is in the same room when you are drinking. But of course those rules are always broken. No one that I know of has been caught.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Room Mates – Room mates are always high or drinking. All there friends do the same thing. Only a couple people have been caught.

Local Atmosphere: The City of Boston. There is always something going on in the city of Boston. This includes concerts, events, and different activities. It's a great city for college students and young adults. In addition to the events, there is variety when it comes to dining and shopping, with restaurants, coffee shops, and clothing stores all throughout the city.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Just Say No! There is a lot of drug activity more so than alcohol. Peer pressure, not really, just stay true to yourself.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Its All About the Music! Most students just hang with a small group of close friends in dorms or apartments and most students live off campus in apartments. Lots of bars in the area if you are over 21. Most people want to be around music all the time! Find people with similar interest in music style. The T transit system is very accessible which enables you to get around the city very easily.

Local Atmosphere: 25 Berklee Alumni Receive Grammy Nominations for 2012! Come visit Berklee in Boston! The premier contemporary music institution in the world. Visti Cafe 939 and Berklee Performing Arts Center, Freedom Trail, historic tours, many restaurants and shopping on Newbury Street!
