Majors: I currently have an internship with Berklee's record label Heavy Rotations Records. It is awesome because we get to be hands on with the bands that are signed to the label, and see the debut mix CD come to life from start to finish and help put on the huge concert at the end of the semester for the city to attend. The faculty adviser is also one of my professors, so being able to work with him as a mentor has been a great learning experience.

Scholarships: Berklee does not offer enough opportunities for scholarships considering how expensive their tuition is and how many students attend the school. They make the guidelines of the scholarships that they offer so hard to meet, that it is only the same select few students who receive the bulk of the money. Financial aid as a whole has been a bit of a headache for me. According to the government, my parents make 'too much money' to receive any financial aid.. but my parents are not the ones paying for my education, I am. And trying to get help for that has been unsuccessful thus far.

Majors: The Music Business department at Berklee is fantastic. They have so many skilled and brilliant professors who offer not only their services as teachers, but as mentors as well. There are always opportunities to take part in that will better you as a student in this field, and the fact that Berklee has it's own record label that offers internships to anyone interested their senior year is amazing. The can be a bit behind in getting paperwork through sometimes when it is important, but otherwise.. top of the line. They want to see students succeed!

Health & Safety: The 'campus' is located in downtown Boston.. so it is not much of an actual campus. But there are a ton of security guards for each separate building owned by the school, and to access each building you must use your ID card at the scanner. They make sure that the crosswalks are clean and that the security measures taken in time of city-wide crime are top of the line. They do a great job of making sure it is safe, considering its location.

Academics: it depends on what teacher you have, that determines you're understanding of the material as well as your grade.

Guys & Girls: there are people from all over, but not too many lookers!

Health & Safety: Berklee doesn't offer any Health benefits other than insurance but theres no school clinic. If a student gets sick they have to find a hospital. The campus is Safe, there's security every where.

Majors: I love the program, but dislike some of the courses they put me in. I am a first semester student and I am no allowed to pick my classes. All the classes are great, but I do dislike two liberal arts classes I am taking that has nothing to do with music.

Campus Dining: Great selection. Very tasty, not institutional. Convenient hours. Try the cheesy eggs!

Off-Campus Dining: The restaurant selection is quite good. Varieties of ethnic, cost, convenience, and flavors abound. However, I am a college students so unless it is for a very special occasion, eating out is not a way I prefer to spend my spare cash (when I have it).

Weather: Since it snows so much here in the winter and the city has found ways to manage it, classes rarely get cancelled due to the weather. Since I live off campus I find it really annoying especially when you'll have a class one day but you can't make it because it's snowing really hard and public transportation is at a stand still. But, other than that the weather in Boston is fairly nice .

Diversity: Berklee has to be one of the top most diverse colleges/universities in the United States. It draws in all kinds of musicians from around the world with different cultural backgrounds and beliefs who just want to come together and make music. I never I thought I would be in a class where there would be someone from Scotland, Japan, and Africa all in the same room. It's also amazing how accepting everyone is here at Berklee; not once have I seen someone discriminate towards another student because of their race, religion, or sexual orientation. I truly believe Berklee College of Music is a great school in that sense and I am glad to be here.

Off-Campus Housing: It is true that finding off campus housing is pretty easy. I actually managed to get a place off campus before I even got to Boston because a friend of mine who had been attending Berklee for a year hooked me up. Apartments can get expensive so I highly suggest getting a work study job or a job at a local store after you get settled in.

Diversity: We have a very diverse campus, not just with students but with professors as well. Musicians from all different cultures attend our school.

Parking: There is no need for cars in the city of Boston. It is pedestrian friendly and has excellent public transportation. If you do have a car, good luck finding parking!

Off-Campus Housing: I am a freshman living in the dorms. I have been looking into apartment living for next year but still don't have enough information to truly answer this question.

Local Atmosphere: Boston is a great city. Lots of art, music, theater and culture here. Lots of educated students, young professionals, etc.

Campus Strictness: No experience with this yet. Most of the students are so talented and glad to be here, I can't imagine alcohol is a big issue.

Facilities: Again, spaces could be larger. More chairs/tables needed for work and study space.

Facilities: Very very small practice rooms. They have A/C so you're not sweeting too much, but they are so tiny.

Majors: Internship opportunities are up for grabs at Berklee. Some of the majors, such as the Business majors, require an internship for graduation. Others do not require this. For my own major, Music Production and Engineering, I will have many opportunities to intern at studios at places both in Boston and across the country.

Majors: I'm very happy with my education at Berklee. There are many performance opportunities, being a music school, as well as chances to meet musicians, live in a wonderful city, join up with other students with similar passions to your own, and all around stretch your mind. Berklee supports and encourages on-campus jobs and many Berklee students also find jobs at the other universities nearby. Facilities, while not grand, are good, with great equipment in the studios and plenty of practice rooms as well. Most of the teachers are willing to help you as long as you are willing to put out the effort they want to see. I've found that as long as you show that you really want the grade and want the knowledge, they are wholeheartedly supportive.

Off-Campus Housing: Housing in Boston is easy to find, being a college-dominated city. That being said, price is very expensive for an apartment and in order to find good, reasonably priced housing, you must begin looking far in advance. Quality ranges, as usual, and really the steepest hurdle is price. If you can find a roommate or two, this can help extensively.

Majors: Once accepted to Berklee, I had to choose my major, which I will apply for in the upcoming semester. For this program, the Music Production and Engineering Major, I must submit a portfolio, attend an interview, and submit GPA. The teachers are looking for those students who are willing to go the extra mile, push harder, and come up with new ideas. The most important part of this process is the interview, where the faculty can really see who you are as a musician and as a person.

Weather: As a student living on campus at a Boston school, it is never an issue for me to get to classes. It does rain a bit, which can be a downer, but the real problem is for those who have to take public transportation, which can be off if it snows. If classes aren't canceled then, the student must miss that day and hopefully contact their teacher. Overall however, the campus weather is great and not negatively impacting my experience at all.
