The choice to live off campus is not very popular; however, finding nearby accommodations is fairly easy. Bentley does not offer apartment search assistance, but this is not a problem, as there are plenty of options that students use year after year. Living in a Waltham apartment can enable you to still feel connected to the Bentley nightlife and social scene, but living beyond the city limits makes it more difficult. The Windsor Village Apartments probably have the highest percentage of students living off campus in one area. Students find their rates reasonable and their location very convenient. Drew Realty Trust also has several convenient locations, including Lexington Street, Lincoln Street, and Trapelo Road. Gardencrest Apartments and several streets off Main are also popular for those who choose to live off campus.
The closer to the city you get, the more expensive the rent is, and it becomes necessary to either be financially stable or have multiple roommates to split the costs. You can definitely use Craigslist or FullDorm.com for sublets, roommate searches, and to find the abode of your off-campus dreams. However, staying in Waltham costs about the same as living on campus, a little less if you can budget well.
