College Freshman

Parking: I live on campus and I do not have a car, so therefore I cannot really provide any feedback in this area.

Parking: Parking is okay. Certain lots are reserved for certain halls. We are getting two new parking garages next semester, so that will be helpful.

Parking: Every dorm gets assigned a level and parking garage. Sometimes you could be a half mile away, sometimes it's 100 feet away. BePo enforces it HEAVILY so do not park anywhere but your assigned area. Parking tags are free, so that's a plus. Honestly, it is still a small enough campus you can't really complain about the distance. Always spots available and with a new garage being built, lots of spots will be empty.

Parking: Parking is pretty decent and there are designated parking garages for the different dorms. Sometimes the campus police are ridiculous and give parking tickets for no reason which is a disadvantage.

Parking is one of students’ biggest complaints. According to a 2011 article in the Belmont Journal (student newspaper), the University currently has 3,164 parking spaces. With a student body that’s more than 6,000 (plus faculty and staff), finding a parking spot can be stressful. Belmont security officers don't tend to show much mercy when it comes to parking tickets, either—leave your car in the wrong spot for 10 minutes and you'll probably be slapped with a fine. Thankfully, Belmont is trying to combat this problem. The school is in the process of developing two more parking garages.

For the time being, students are stuck circling the garages in vain, but most people try to make the best of it. Students will cheer good-naturedly when the person they’ve been following for 15 minutes finally gets a spot. Professors will arrive a few minutes late to class because even they couldn’t find parking, so they usually understand if a commuter student has the same problem. Everybody knows parking is terrible at Belmont, but if that’s the worst problem, the University’s in pretty good shape.
