5 College Junior

Nightlife: Nashville is probably one of the best cites in the country for amazing nightlife.

1 College Junior

Nightlife: The "nightlife" a Belmont could not possibly be any worse.

2 College Freshman

Nightlife: I myself am not much of a partier, but the nightlife here is kind of pathetic. Very few clubs that you can go to dance; the only ones I can think of currently is the local gay bar, Play. There are house parties and shows just about every weekend, but you have to know the right people, and from my experience, I have never wanted to stay more than an hour or two as certain people will drive you insane.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: There are a lot of venues available for those under 18 and those 21 and over. There are several karaoke spots, bars, restaurants, and music venues.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: Not the same as a huge SEC school, but house shows always have music (some good and some bad) and there are occasional secret frat parties

Nashville has a thriving nightlife scene, whether you’re looking to dance, drink, or just hang out, and Belmont students take part in it all. You’ll get invited to house parties on Facebook, and these can range from your typical college party to a themed "Great Gatsby" night (it’s Belmont—students are artsy). If you’re looking for more traditional nightlife, head downtown to Broadway. There are tons of bars and clubs there, and while many of them are 21-and-up, some will allow students who are 18 to come in and hang out—though, they’ll mark your hands with a big black "X." Underage drinking is taken very seriously in downtown Nashville; you’d be hard-pressed to find a bartender who would serve you with one of those Xs on your hands.

Dress codes are casual at most of the clubs, but drinks can be expensive. If you’re on a budget, check out the Wildhorse Saloon; there are people who drink, of course, but it’s a family-friendly atmosphere, so you and your friends won’t be alone if you’re not drinking. Hillsboro Village is another fantastic option for students who want to experience nightlife without the partying scene. Though it’s not open as late as downtown, venues like San Antonio Taco Company (SATCO, for short) and Sweet CeCe’s are usually packed with college students from all of the local schools on any given night. The proprietors of these places love it—SATCO even offers a free soft drink to any customer with a Belmont student ID.

Cheapest Place to Get a Drink
Drinks are pretty expensive, unless you go to back-alley seedy bars. However, some bars and clubs, like Flying Saucer and Decades, have discount nights when drink prices can go as low as $2.
Organization Parties
Belmont's events are always alcohol-free, but that's never been a problem for the students. The Black Student Association (BSA) throws an annual cookout at the beginning of the academic year on the Grassy Knoll with food, drinks, and live music. The University Ministries' Harvest Party is a way for the campus to kick off the fall season and is usually held in October at a farm in Franklin, Tenn. Alpha Tau Omega fraternity hosts "Disco is Dead," a '70s disco-themed party at the Curb Café; it costs $1 at the door, and the money goes to the Red Cross. Program Board, the student organization that brings entertainment to students, hosts all sorts of events throughout the year-you'll start to see posters around campus and Facebook invitations to movie nights and themed parties starting the first week of classes!

Play Dance Bar

This popular gay bar/dance club attracts mostly gay guys, lesbians, and straight girls with its cheap prices, outstanding drag shows, popular music with a techno twist, and everyone-on-board atmosphere. Wednesdays are free for students, Thursday nights are free for women, and Friday and Saturday nights are their biggest nights. Don't go on Sundays, though; it has that feeling of a failed junior high prom, with the empty dance floor except for a few loiterers who are tired of dancing by themselves.

PM

This restaurant/bar has a Thai feel to it and serves great food and drinks. Because it's on Belmont Boulevard, the crowd mostly consists of 20- and 30-somethings. But it's very laid-back, a bit Bohemian, and a bit beatnik.
