Weather: Summer= HOT, Fall= Nice and beautiful, Winter= COLD, Spring= Nice

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Wish I could get more.

Local Atmosphere: It's surrounded by houses, but drive a little bit and you'll find something. If you like music, there's constantly shows going on, and if you like to drink and party, you'll definitely find something. But if you're not into that, it's a little tougher...

3 College Freshman

Computers: Not enough, printing is the worst

Nightlife: No one stays on campus on the weekends everyone disappears!

Greek Life: I don't know much about Greek Life, but the people in it seem nice.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Nashville is like a small town feel but still a city so there is always a lot going on off campus. The only thing is most of it costs money.

Overall Experience: Some of the rules are just a hassle. At some point in your life, your not going to have someone protecting you from the world. I think college should be that time, but Belmont disagrees.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: You might as well stay on-campus. Especially if you don't have a car.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: It'd be nice if we had a little more school spirit through Varsity sports.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Never had a problem with them, but they do give you a time limit. After a couple hours, they'll charge you for continued use on the computer.

Drug Safety: You do it if you want, but the no one is pressuring you to.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: It's really easy to get around. Taking the bus is free, you can easily ride your bike anywhere, and you can easily call a cab to come get you.

Campus Strictness: Belmont can be pretty strict. Having visitation hours makes me feel like I'm a child again though.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There's tons of aspiring musicians and artists everywhere so you get a lot of characters...

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The people are friendly, there's opportunities everywhere, it's right next to music row, the buildings are close so it doesn't take a half hour to get to and from classes.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: There are a lot of places to jam and the school is built with good acoustics in mind which is awesome!

3 College Freshman

Weather: Very bipolar. Humidity is killer.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Pancake Pantry is where it's at. However, it closes really early. There are a lot of dining options which is nice, but a lot of places in Nashville close after 10 which sucks.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: Not the most diverse school, I can count the number of Asians on my fingers. However, not a lot of people of different races want to come to Belmont. Though, the school does try to attract people of all ethnic backgrounds.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The professors I've had so far were really great. They don't feel out of reach and they're always willing to help.

4 College Freshman

Academics: We have pretty much everything, but it's best if you're a music or nursing major.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I hope to RUSH next year.

3 College Freshman

Parking: I don't have a car.

Scholarships: I didn't recieve any financial aid for my first semester, and when I did it was in loans.

Most Belmont students will tell you that if they had to do it over again, they’d choose Belmont every time. So, despite parking issues, rising tuition, and strict behavioral policies, students are truly glad to be here, and it shows. University president Dr. Robert Fisher (around here, he’s affectionately called “Bob the Builder”—you’ll figure it out when you see the construction trucks on campus) likes to say Belmont is a “small town in a big city.” Because it’s such a tiny school on an enclosed campus, the community atmosphere at Belmont is incredibly strong. Professors often give out their personal cell phone numbers to students who need extra help, and they genuinely want their students to succeed—not just in their classes, but in life. Most students find one or two professors in their major who become almost like surrogate parents. They’ll counsel you through the stress of finals and help you find fantastic internships. Because many professors are former professionals in whatever field they teach, they have experience and contacts that are immeasurably valuable to students —in this town, the people you know have the potential to open doors for you.

Nashville itself is probably one of the biggest selling points for the University. It’s an incredible town full of opportunities for young professionals in every major. Nursing students may do clinicals at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, one of the top hospitals in the world. Students who like to write might find a public relations internship at one of the music labels in town. And of course, if you want to pursue a career in the music business, there’s no better place to be. So is a Belmont education expensive? Yes. Make no mistake about it. But if you feel it’s the right place for you, you’ll leave knowing every penny was worth it.
