Transportation: At belmont University there are no campus shuttles and it is hard to find a bus stop. Students over 21 are not allowed to rent cars, making transportation difficult for those who do not have cars.

Weather: It's Nashville. One day it's 40 in the spring and the next it's 70. It's freezing in the winter, super hot in the summer, but fall and springs are perfect.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Belmont Police seem to be pretty strict with it, but as long as you're off campus, nothing happens.

2 College Freshman

Athletics: Ehhhh I don't really like sports so

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: Not the same as a huge SEC school, but house shows always have music (some good and some bad) and there are occasional secret frat parties

5 College Freshman

Transportation: There's a bus system through Nashville, taxis, Ubers, etc... rides from friends are easy to find too.

5 College Freshman

Academics: academics are great. professors care and know your name. small classes. lots of grading opportunities and accommodating professors.

Campus Dining: The caf is pretty bad. It suffices, but it is by no means great dining. That being said, if you're hungry, i can't complain. They have salads, sandwiches, pizza, grilled cheese, burgers, an international line, and basic foods based on the meal. We also have a to-go option with sandwhiches, sodas, chips, and fruits. Most students love the caf anyway, though, just because the staff is so friendly.

The curb cafe is better as it has papa johns, a chinese place, world of wings (being replaced by chic-fil-a), sushi, and mcallisters. Next semester we are getting a starbucks in the new building! The curb also has a wide variety of drink options, packaged foods, and ice cream.

The corner court is very grocery-store like and is good for picking up snacks before or after class.

I would say for the most part, campus food is good. And when it's not, Belmont is right next to a strip of restaurants.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: City life. You can walk, drive, or take a taxi. Most everything is close.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Belmont is amazing. I feel so accepted, loved, and successful here. I really feel that I am making lifelong friends and that I am on the right track. Belmont treats each student like a creation of God and whether they believe it or not, that love is reciprocated across campus for everyone. It really does feel like a family here!

College Freshman

Majors: I know Belmont is good at getting students internships but I have not yet had one.

Most Belmont students will tell you that if they had to do it over again, they’d choose Belmont every time. So, despite parking issues, rising tuition, and strict behavioral policies, students are truly glad to be here, and it shows. University president Dr. Robert Fisher (around here, he’s affectionately called “Bob the Builder”—you’ll figure it out when you see the construction trucks on campus) likes to say Belmont is a “small town in a big city.” Because it’s such a tiny school on an enclosed campus, the community atmosphere at Belmont is incredibly strong. Professors often give out their personal cell phone numbers to students who need extra help, and they genuinely want their students to succeed—not just in their classes, but in life. Most students find one or two professors in their major who become almost like surrogate parents. They’ll counsel you through the stress of finals and help you find fantastic internships. Because many professors are former professionals in whatever field they teach, they have experience and contacts that are immeasurably valuable to students —in this town, the people you know have the potential to open doors for you.

Nashville itself is probably one of the biggest selling points for the University. It’s an incredible town full of opportunities for young professionals in every major. Nursing students may do clinicals at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, one of the top hospitals in the world. Students who like to write might find a public relations internship at one of the music labels in town. And of course, if you want to pursue a career in the music business, there’s no better place to be. So is a Belmont education expensive? Yes. Make no mistake about it. But if you feel it’s the right place for you, you’ll leave knowing every penny was worth it.
