Campus Resources: I really like it at this school before I was at clover park tec. And that school was so unorganized that it was just one stressful thing o another bates is so much more organized and you study the right classes with out the stress of objective classes

Student Body: Most of the students want to be here. but the few that dont tend to mess it up for those of us who do want to learn.

Academic Flexibility: the chefs have been great with flexablity. they know that we have lives out side of school. like other classes and kids

Academic Experience: This is only my third week here at Bates, so far all of the faculty I have met are very friendly, and even remembered my name and who my husband is after only meeting once. The best part was how the advising staff help you enroll in the right classes, right from the beginning, so you don't wast your time with the wrong classes.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I feel that there were some fees that could have been avoided or calculated into the tuition for the year before school had started.

Academic Flexibility: I chose this school for the culinary program. The chefs know most of have to take additional classes for academics and are very understanding. I had no trouble transferring the classes I have already taken and had alot of support from registration and student services with knowing what classes I need and how to set up a plan of action for the degree I am going for.

Career Services: I am currently a student at Bates and do not graduate until 2014.

Online Courses: Although I did very well with my online course, I prefer classes in person. I did learn alot and had access to my instructor for any questions, I like the chance to ask questions immediatly and counter any questions or answers I received with more questions or debates.

Campus Resources: our wireless network is not very powerful and very slow. the printers don't work very well and you have to pay for everything.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I wish the school would make the deadlines better known for applying for financial aid before each sememster.

Campus Resources: The facilities on the main campus located downtown are above average. It is a comfortable environment for learning and current on its teachings. It's far nicer than another private college that is far pricier and doesn't offer as much as this school.

Overall Experience: I love my school. I take great pride in it by being involved. I'm currently involved with ASG (Associated Student Government) which helps us students relay classmates suggestions/complaints to the teachers & staff.

Career Services: It's a great tool to use if you apply yourself but could use better techniques on assisting the students.

Campus Resources: Computers on Campus – There is limited availability, but when they are available they are sufficient. It is frustrating that we have to pay for copies. First school that I have had to do that.

Online Courses: Online classes are easy to access and are monitored by an IT person so that when there is an issue it can me quickly resolved.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have attended 2 other colleges other than Bates and never had an issue with financial aid. The paper work is unorganized, they require special summaries from the IRS and wont accept a copy of your tax return. I had to wait until Winter quarter to get my fall financial aid.

Academic Experience: Be Prepared to Pay for Books, Tuition, and Fees at Your Own Expense – The curriculum is great. I love the "hands on" training which is much appreciated in this economy. Sometimes i feel that the environment is too relaxed causing students to procrastinate on test and homework assignments. Also many issues with financial aid checks being dispersed in a sufficient time frame, some students have to wait weeks or months to be funded, and are unable to get the books and materials they need. Other than that, pretty decent college.

Campus Resources: Too Relaxed!? If you are looking for a laid-back school, this is it. I'm not sure it's such a good thing because I take my education very seriously, and would like it if the school was more "on it".

Online Courses: Completely up to You. I'm taking a medical terminology course online, and there is no schedule! No due dates at all, but of course you need to finish everything by the end of the quarter. It sounds like a good thing, however, it is easy to get off track, so I suggest creating your own schedule and sticking to it! It does give you the flexibility of taking time off, and tailoring it to your life which is pretty great!

Campus Resources: The book store has everything I need. The receptionist even knew all the answers to the questions I was asking because she is involved with the teachers who give the list of books needed. There is a really strong communication between them

Academic Experience: Just Starting – I've only been here a quarter, but feel the staff are more prompt to responding to its students rather than other colleges I've been to. Calling to talk to someone can be a problem, but if you go to the campus to set up a meeting, or need an advisor, they are very prompt.

Academic Experience: I love the work but I feel the school uses us as free manual labor. As I said I love the work but I do feel there is only so much they can expect us to do for free.

Campus Resources: School Politics – Instructors have no power to expell unwanted students, even when caught with drugs and alcohol. Resently sexual harassment has run rampant through my class and I can't do anything about it because my instructors turn a blind eye to it.

Career Services: Job Prospects – Over 90% of the students find machinist jobs before they graduate. To me that's what sums up Bates, it's got a great training program that get's you a job. It not a lot of fluff, it's a lot of substance. That's worth gold in this economy. I'm here to learn so that I can get a job. The other stuff is secondary, or even non-essential.

Student Body: School Body – I don't really have an interest, nor do I participate, nor have knowledge of the different school body activities.
